Critique my ADRs

Hi All,
Tomorrow is ADR day so I'd love some feedback on the ADRs I think I'm planning. We're on the DDP. Here's the list:

Day 1 – Epcot – Coral Reef Dinner
Day 2 – Magic Kingdom – Dinner Whispering Canyon
Day 3– Hollywood Studios - Counter service meals planned.
Day 4 – Magic Kingdom – Ohana Lilo and Stitch breakfast and LTT late lunch
Day 5 – Epcot – Belle’s Breakfast in Norway and Tutto dinner
Day 6 – Animal Kingdom – Yak and Yeti dinner
Day 7 – Magic Kingdom – Plaza lunch

I am thinking we'll pay out of pocket for the LTT and Plaza lunches.

What do you think? Good choices? Bad choices?

This is just my opinion.

-Coral Reef is mediocre food, you're really paying for the Ambiance and the Aquarium.
-Whispering Canyon is fun, if you're into the loud hoopla that they do. Like yelling for Ketchup. If you have young kids, they'll love it.
-DHS counter service, backlot express is okay. They have things like chicken strips, burgers..etc.
-Not sure about the Ohana Breakfast.
-LTT has always been a repeat for us. We love all they have to offer, especially the tavern fried cheese
-When my neice wanted to do the Belles Breakfast, she was actually afraid of the princesses. But it seemed like they flew by, signed took a picture and moved. Not sure if they still have it, but their cinnamon cake was actually really good.
-We haven't done Tutto Italia yet, we have an ADR planned on our upcoming trip to eat there, but I don't really see how you can mess up Italian food. I might be wrong, but we're on the same fence as you right now.
-Yak and Yeti is a nice looking restaurant..but I personally think it taste like cheap chinese food. At Disney prices.
-The Plaza is really good, it's like the hidden gem of MK. Their sandwiches aren't that expensive, but sometimes they crowd too many people in the restaurant at a time. It's really good if you're going in a slow season. The Mayor of Main Street USA comes there and entertains too.

Sounds great overall, you'll have a blast!!

The only recommendation I have is:
Swap Coral Reef for counter at Epcot. There are so many good counter service meals and snacks at Epcot. Or Garden Grill with characters for the kids if you really want a sit-down.

Then maybe use left over credit (from Coral Reef) for Sci-Fi or 50's Primetime at your HS day. Family fun with the meal. We never miss these two. Better than counter service here.

Let us know you final decisions.

Thank you so much. I'm thinking my kids will love the aquarium (that's why I picked the Coral Reef) but now I'm reconsidering Yak and Yeti.

The only problem with Coral Reef is the Childrens menu is minimal. If your kid do not like fish (mahi mahi), they've got the option between beefaroni, cheese pizza or chicken breast.

I'm considering dropping the Yak and Yeti and doing a reservation for the Cape May dinner. I'd love to hear what people's experience has been with that. There's no crab legs listed on the All Ears menu, but I thought I'd heard they sometimes have them?

We like Cape May, the price is the only thing that has been getting us over the years. But the only time they have crab legs is the Clambake. Never been to it, so I wouldn't know when they hold it. They do have a pretty big kids selection. Like mac and cheese, fish, pizza, chicken tenders. They also have amazing mussels, and good salad selection. Also they have mini desserts, like oreo bon bons.

We enjoy Coral Reef, except we normally do lunch - I think your kids will enjoy eating beside a giant aquarium. However, we also enjoy Garden Grill too, & our kids love the character interaction at Garden Grill.

Whispering Canyon Cafe will be a fun choice!

We've never done the 'Ohana character breakfast, but it looks fun! We've always done dinner at LTT, but we're trying LTT for lunch for the first time during our upcoming trip!

We've done the princess character meal at EPCOT once & enjoyed it. We're also trying Tutto for the 1st time this trip - I've read some really good reviews!

On your Animal Kingdom day, you might consider the Tusker House character breakfast instead of Yak & Yeti or Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We're trying Yak & Yeti this trip as well, but Boma & Tusker House would be 2 I would choose before I chose Yak & Yeti, if that makes sense.

On our last day MK day, I would do Crystal Palace for lunch instead of the Plaza - just to end with a fun character meal.

If you're thinking about Cape May, you could put it at the end of your DHS day.

We've done Tutto before, last time we went to WDW. It was delish, not to mention lovely inside. Its better than the Olive Garden but not as good as real family owned homemade pasta type Italian, if that makes sense. We enjoyed it enough to want to go back, that's for sure.

We did Tusker House breakfast also. We really enjoyed it, the food was good and the character interaction was also good. My kids enjoyed Mickey and Minnie in their safari clothes. I'm mulling that one over... my kids probably would enjoy going back there.

When my son was younger he LOVED coral reef because of the aquarium and the chocolate lava cake for desert! It became an "every time" choice for us. Last year they put us right next to the aquarium and he was thrilled. But, I agree with other posters - the food is only so-so at best and he told me last year "thats the last time". That being said I don't regret a single time we went because the aquarium is so fun.

Tutto Italia is good. Foods good and ambiance is GREAT. Lots of pasta choices there, which most kids like.

Though I wish I could say I like Yak & Yeti the food there is really NOT good at all. Such a disappointment because AK really needed another TS restaurant. That being said, I love the buffet at Tusker House in AK.

Don't have much input on the others but... I agree with earlier poster that Sci Fi Drive and 50s Prime Time are both GREAT at DHS and if you want to do CS at AK I can give really good marks to both Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ. My son didn't like BBQ when he was younger so we ate at Pizzafari a lot. He loved the personal pizzas (a lot like pizza hut pan pizzas) and they have a really good chicken caesar salad there.

I love Yak and Yeti! (just made ressie for my May trip!) We have eaten there twice and found the food really good not at all like cheap chinese. My dad had the ribs and said they were the best he had ever had. I love the Mahi Mahi and wonton dessert. Its funny how some people like one thing and some another. I personally did not like Cape May at all. I though the seafood was mediocre at best and that the choices were somewhat limited. Maybe its a regional thing... we are used to great seafood up here but maybe our chinese is not up to par with other parts of the country.

We have done Liberty Tree Tavern and it is a definate repeat for us...we usually do lunch but the dinner menu is great too!

Ohana is another must do for us...my dd9 loves the characters at this breakfast and the food is always warm and yummy (family style).

Coral Reef...this one we have done on and off. My dd9 just mentioned how she loved the aquarium. We have done both lunch and dinner and I would prefer lunch I think.

Princess breakfast is a MUST for anyone who has girls...you get the free photo too!

This year we will do Teppan Edo in Japan for dinner...we love hibachi and my dd9 enjoys the show.

We wanted to do Teppan Edo too, but their kids menu was kind of... Japanese for my kids taste. My older one is super picky so I try and stick with things there will be at least one thing I know for sure she'll eat. Much of the time I make her eat something a little healthier at TS but I do like to know I have one 'fall back' choice in case she's having a really cranky day, so we'll have to wait another couple of years for that one.

Here's what we ended out doing:
Day 1 – Epcot (closes at 9pm) – Coral Reef Dinner 7:35 pm
Day 2 – Magic Kingdom (closes at 10) – Dinner Whispering Canyon 5:30pm
Day 3 – Hollywood Studios (closes at 8 + EMH) Counter service meals planned.
Day 4 – Magic Kingdom (Closes at 9 +EMH) – Ohana breakfast 8:45am and OOP LTT late lunch 2:50 pm
Day 5 – Epcot (Closes at 9 +EMH) – Belle’s Breakfast 9:45am and Tutto dinner 6:05
Day 6 – Animal Kingdom (closes at 5) – Cape May dinner 5:50
Day 7 – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party? – Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner 5:00
Day 8 – Magic Kingdom (closes at 10) – OOP Plaza 11:00am.

I was surprised how many of these were the last available seating for my party size or how many didn't have more than one choice of time in the "dinner" or "breakfast" time frame.

I also tried to book a Fantasmic pkg for our Hollywood Studios day and there was nothing available. I may, btw, cancel the Cinderella's Happily Ever After dinner if I can ever get a Fantasmic dinner package to replace it.

Now I feel like the work is over and I can sit back and just wait for September to roll around.
