DH, DD (3-1/2) and I will be at WDW Feb 14-21. We're staying at POR with park hoppers and a car, so traveling around shouldn't be a big deal. So far, here are my ADR's:

2/15 AK day
Donald's b'fast at AK
Boma dinner

2/16 MK day
Crystal Palace lunch

2/17 MK day
1900 Park Fare dinner

2/18 Epcot day
Akershus b'fast
Le Cellier "dinner" (4:00, best I could do)

2/19 nothing planned so far - this might be a second Epcot day, so probably need to plan something for lunch.

2/20 Boma b'fast, then probably on to DHS.

Right now, we're planning on CS, food court, snacking, etc. for the rest of the meals. DD is a very good eater, not picky at all. I'm trying to be a bit flexible with the meal planning so we can go with her moods and rest when we need to, but I also don't want to be stuck eating CS 3 meals a day. Any suggestions?

Hi! Welcome to the Disboards. You will find a lot of great information here.

Have you been to WDW before? Are you on the dining plan? (Just some info so we can help you out).

I like your choices so far. At Epcot, you could try the Garden Grill (although it is only dinner). Here you dine with Mickey and Chip & Dale. I also like the Coral Reef. Dine with the fishies.

At DHS, I loved the food at 50s Prime Time. I also loved the SciFi Dine in Theater. Eat in "car" and watch old movie clips- fun!

OT--I see you are from NC. We are moving down there soon, to the Charlotte area. Where do you live?

The only one I would change is Boma dinner, we didnt care for it. I would rather go to Yak & Yeti....it was awesome!

Having a buffet dinner followed by a quasi-buffet breakfast never works for us - we're inevitably still full enough from the night before that we just want a light breakfast, if anything.

If you're going for the characters and just want to eat light, then it's probably just fine - if a bit pricey.

Personally, I have to disagree with MickeyNicki, but it all depends on the type of eater you are. We are pretty adventerous, and we loved our meal at Boma. They also offered plenty of 'normal' options for the kids and my cousin who loves his meat and potatoes. It's all a matter of your personal tastes, but we loved it!

Welcome!

We loved Boma. Our children did too. There was a special kid section for them with familiar things. The service was very friendly and they were prompt with our drinks and picking up plates.

Have a magical vacation!

I think you have an awful lot of buffets, which I personally tire of after awhile. But, if buffets are your thing, then you have picked some good ones. My family especially loves Boma. It is great for both breakfast and dinner; I don't think you will be disappointed.

Sorry I've been so late in thanking you all for your comments. I'm spending a lot of time lurking here and have picked up some great tips. We're not on the DDP. I tend to share meals with DD or order appetizers as a meal and I wanted a little more flexibility than the DDP allowed. I have been second-guessing the number of buffets, but I wanted plenty of character meals to avoid standing in autograph lines.

Lovemylap-band, we are in the Charlotte area. We're the rare natives from just outside town and I've worked in Charlotte for years.

Good afternoon,

I like your ADRs. Though I haven't been to WDW since December, 2007, or anywhere since May, 2008, I'd like to make some specific comments.

As cigar95 has stated, following your Tuesday, February 17 buffet dinner at 1900 Park Faire (good choice) with a breakfast buffet the next morning is quite a lot of food spaced close together, so you may wish to rethink. I suggest a visit to Fountainview Bakery for a breakfast pastry or sandwich and coffee or juice, especially if you have a 4:00 pm "linner" (late lunch/early dinner) at Le Cellier, which is perhaps my favorite eatery in WDW.

If Thursday, February 19, 2009, is an Epcot day, why not try an early lunch at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club? Though tiny and famous for ice cream, this restaurant serves excellent burgers and sandwiches. There is also the Yacht Club Galley at the Yacht Club for good sandwiches and New England clam chowder. Both resorts are a ten- or fifteen-minute walk or a Friendship Boat ride from World Showcase.

Never tried Akershaus, but Boma is excellent for any meal. My favorite place in WDW to eat breakfast is Boatwright's Dining Hall, located in Port Orleans Riverside. Their Sweet Potato Pancakes are awesome, and if you're really hungry, there's a "make your own" omelette with up to a dozen fillings and toppings.

If you plan to go to DHS on that final day book the character lunch or breakfast at Hollywood & Vine instead of Boma. Your little one is the perfect age for that one. :thumbsup2

I would keep Boma dinner, it is a must do for us now. My only regret is that I didn't have room to eat even more, it was really really good.

If you are going to 1900PF I'd skip Akerhus. Have a CS breakfast at POR. Breakfast, snack and 4pm dinner at LeCellier will probably be more comfortable than the 2TS meals you've got planned.

I highly recommend Coral Reef lunch for that second Epcot day, the food is really good, the aquarium is awesome and will probably be a big wow for DD AND they serve you ie. not a buffet. Also since it is underwater it is a true respite from the park. We ate there during heavy rain storms and had no clue until we were stepping over the wet bodies on the way to the restroom. :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. I hadn't thought about heading over to Beaches and Cream while we're at Epcot. I had wanted to check out some other resorts and this will be a great excuse. I had also forgotten about the Hollywood and Vine breakfast - Little Einsteins might be a bigger hit with DD than anyone else.

Lap-band, just wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring your PM. I typed out a long-winded response and then found out my newbie status won't let me reply! I'll get my post count up and get back to you soon.
