Family of 4 - 2 fairly picky eaters age 9 and 6 (one more than the other!) and 2 foodie adults travelling Aug 15 - 23rd staying at WL. I feel like heat and possibly the time difference (coming from West Coast) will be issues

Aug 15 - arriving late - walk-in to either Geyser Point or WCC if it's still open

Aug 16 - MK - Roaring Forks for bfast, 12:00ish lunch at LTT, 6:30 dinner at Tonys (I know, I know). I couldn't get an ADR at BOG for dinner and I felt like my kids would like the pizza and atmosphere at Tonys.

Aug 17 - EP - Roaring Forks/GP for bfast, Lunch at Teppan Edo and Dinner at Biergarten - Too much food? There will be about 6 1/2 hours between ADRs.

Aug 18 - HS/DS - WCC for bfast, QS lunch, Dinner at Art Smith's Homecomin'

Aug 19 - AK - Tusker House Preopening Bfast, QS lunch, Dinner at Boma before ROL

Aug 20 - BB/rest day - Open bfast, maybe The Wave, QS lunch, Dinner at Trails End

Aug 21 - MK, which closes early, QS Bfast, Lunch???, Dinner at Narcoosees - There are Cindy's ADRs available for lunch, but it's so pricey not sure it's worth it. We are doing BBB this morning as well.

Aug 22 - EP- QS bfast, 12:00 San Angel Inn, Artist Point for Dinner

Aug 23 - Kona bfast before heading to Airport

I feel like we have too many QS breakfsats, but not sure we want to waste our budget on sit down breakfasts. Also, do we have too many ADRs at Epcot? I've never been to Teppan Edo or Biergarten, but I kind of love SAI. I was not a huge fan of Via Napoli.

Thoughts?

If you don’t want to waste your budget on breakfast, bring things you can eat. That also saves a lot of time. Things like pop tarts, belvita, cereal...that’s our preference. My boys (husband and 2 sons-7 & 5, currently) eat something while I’m getting my makeup on, then I eat a baggie of belvita while we walk to the bus. Quick, easy, cheap, and no mess. Even when we fly, we can fit those in our suitcases, or have them delivered via amazon.

It does seem like you are eating a lot on the Epcot day. Teppan Edo is no better than a hibachi style restaurant anywhere else, so I’d probably just do that at home sometime. I LOVE Biergarten. Personally, I won’t do more than one TS a day because of how long it takes. My kids aren’t interested in waiting for us to eat when there is so much to do! They will do it once, but I find that asking them to do it more than that is too much for us.

I definitely eat less in the heat, and I find that having fewer ADRs works better when it is hot-for us. YMMV.

I think you have a good plan. We happen to enjoy Tony’s for dinner. Also favorites of ours on your list are LTT lunch, TH breakfast, WCC breakfast, and Boma dinner. We are adults but 2 people in our party have food allergies so we pretty much eat all our meals at TS. We space them out plus usually eat a lighter lunch so it works out fine. We find the hour or so spent at lunch and dinner is our time to rest and recharge. If it is really crowded you would probably spend the same amount of time at CS standing in line waiting to order and then waiting for the food and then trying to find a table and eating.

I think it looks pretty good overall.

You mentioned not being able to get a BOG dinner reservation, and I see a couple spots you would be able to fit in a breakfast or lunch meal there if you wanted, and those reservations are much easier to get. Also keep checking the MDE app closer to your FP opening window and then close to the time when you’ll be there and while you’re there, reservations almost always become available at these times and you may have luck booking.

I would definitely get rid of Teppan Edo as lunch at Epcot and do something else. I agree with the above poster, it’s not any more special than your average hibachi places that seem to be popping up everywhere these days. Plus Epcot has some outstanding QS places in the WS, like Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie (one of my favorite places in all of Epcot, highly underrated), Tangierine Cafe, Yorkshire County Fish Shop, etc. And there’s lots of snack type items to try as well. I always try to leave time for snacking at Epcot!

August 15 - fabulous. We love the food options at WL and my DS would eat breakfast everyday at GP if I let him!

August 16 - it's fine. There just isn't great food in MK. I do prefer Skipper's over your two choices, but LTT and Tony's are fine.

August 17 - That's a lot of food, IMHO. There are some great QS in WS EP. Personally, I would consider dropping Teppan Edo and just doing Biergarten for lunch or dinner and doing a QS meal for the other one. We love Tangierine Cafe and Les Halles des France.

August 18 - great choices. Love WCC!

August 19 - I, personally, wouldn't do both TH and Boma. That's two buffets with fairly similar food offerings. I would keep TH and not leave AKL. Would you consider Y&Y? Or even going to Nomad Lounge for apps (which are fairly large). DH thinks Nomad is the best kept secret in AK (shhhh!)

August 20 - great choices

August 21 - I wouldn't do CRT lunch and Narcoosee's dinner - that's a lot of food and a lot of time eating. If you want a princess meal, maybe consider doing Akershus on one of your EP days?

August 22 - Looks good. AP is our favorite signature!

August 23 - what time do you leave for the airport? Just make sure you have enough time to get to Poly and back.

I love QS for breakfast. I don't like to spend a lot of time eating in the morning. I do find there are some lighter choices on the GP menu as opposed to RF at WL. Personally, I would probably pick two TS at EP and do QS otherwise. As I said, there is some very good QS in EP WS (in some cases, better than the TS!)

Thanks everyone! I will probably drop Teppan Edo - it did seem too much. I think BOG for lunch on Tuesday would be our best bet so I'll try for that. How do you sign up for one of those ADR availability alerts? And I'll look into a grocery order for breakfast type snacks - my little one loves yogurt to get us out the door.

DisneyWishes14 - I was wondering about TH and Boma being too similar. We will most likely take a break that day because we'd be going from pre-park opening to close with ROL. My DH would never last so if we don't go to Boma, maybe we'll get dinner at WCC instead. That would save travel time or at least Minnie Van costs to AKL. I was interested in Jiko, but without Simba's Club it's probably out for us.

I personally don’t think TH and Boma on the same day is too much since one is breakfast foods and the other is dinner food. I would keep both ADR’s.

That's true - I missed the part where OP is having breakfast at TH and dinner at Boma. OP, if you want to save travel time and Minnie Van costs, though, Nomad Lounge is quite an oasis inside AK (it's my DH's favorite). Very quiet, great drinks (and "mocktails") and fantastic apps. We spent at least an hour there on our last trip just sipping drinks, eating and taking a break from AK.

Have you considered Sanaa instead of Boma? It’s a regular table service, so you wouldn’t have 2 buffets in one day. It’s on the savannah and you can view animals from your table. The food is definitely more exotic but it does have a good pizza and burger on the kids menu, and the chicken flatbread sandwich is great as well. Plus they usually have a fun decorate-your-own dessert on the kids menu

(Edited to add a pic of the current selection of paint your own brownie because it’s so cool!)

On your Epcot day I would cancel Roaring Forks and Teppan Edo. I would add Akershus Princess Fairytale Breakfast. This meal is better than CRT IMO, and you also get to have Belle in your character meal. The breakfast is mostly family style, and you get plenty, so you could wing it at lunchtime in the WC if you get hungry.

I also question Boma before ROL. I like Boma, but that is a lot of traveling just to add one more buffet. Boma sometimes runs late for dinner so I woudl add that consideration. My family had dinner at Sanaa and they found it to be among their favorites. You could keep your TH breakfast and perhaps book a late lunch/early dinner at Sanaa. If it is still daylight you might get to enjoy the animals as well.

AS for Kona on departure day, please be sure you allow plenty of time to get back tot eh resort if you are using DME.
