Since we can use a water park visit without using a theme park day we are wondering if this would work.

Arrive at MCO 8:05 am, take ME to AKL
Check in, drop bags at bell services
go to DS to activate tickets and purchase memory maker
take uber to BB

What time frame do you think we could arrive at BB?

If it is after park opening would it be worth going? Or would the crowds be too much if we are not there before opening? This is for 6/8 and the calendar shows 10-5 right now but I know that can change to 9 am opening time.

Any input would be appreciated :)

It would definitely be after park opening. I would say at least 11AM at the very earliest.

I wouldn't go to a water park unless I got there at opening, but it depends on if you are ok waiting in long lines.

Actually I would say noon at the earliest.

I think it really depends on what you want to get done at the water parks, if you just want to do the wave pool lazy river. and a few smaller rides/ slides then I think this would be more doable then wanting the really big things ( unless you do not mind waiting in lines)

with an early flight I am guessing you are getting up very early. So if you do the water park I would call it an early day ( maybe even before the park closes get back to the hotel have dinner and call it an early night so that you can RD the park the next morning)

but I do agree you will not get to the water park before 12.

Thanks. Do the crowds thin out at some point during the day? We have an ADR for TREX at 12:30 that I was going to cancel. Should we maybe keep that then head to BB?

Right this is what I was thinking about leaving the park before closing. We do have a water park day planned for TL during our 5 day trip but we were thinking with such and early flight we could do BB instead of just waiting around DS or AKL while we wait on our room.

I'm not really sure. Last time we went we regretted it, wished we had just stayed at the pool at our resort. We left around noon because the lines were insane and it was soooo hot. We typically don't stay at any park in the hottest part of the afternoon.

Given the fact that you are staying at AKL, honestly I would stay at the resort for the day. The pools are lovely and there are a lot of activities.

I would think it is likely it would change to a 9 am opening.
When we did the waterparks we arrived at 815 and left at 1030am. In that first 90 minutes we had done every slide/ride at least once as well as a lap around the lazy river. By 1030 am the slide lines were very long. I think the family ride was 90 minute wait. The lazy river was packed. If you can deal with those crowds then sure.

Another option might be to book a nice lunch and sit down and relax after traveling.

Keep an eye on those hours. Last summer one of the water parks was open till 8pm. we found that if that was the case and you went back about 6pm most people were clearing out to go to dinner and you saw very low crowds. So maybe have a nice lunch. hit a few store and hope for your room to be ready early. Get settled and then hit the waterparks in the evening. And you are still back early in case you have an early start the next day....

Personally, I wouldn't do any park with that early a travel day. Just wouldn't feel like I'm getting the value out of it. Maybe Splitsville or take in a movie at AMC DS. While I'm not a fan of TREX, I'd keep a lunch ressie, do something light and get to bed early.

IF you keep this then I do not see you getting to BB until like 1:30-200 at the earliest and be time some people may time have left might have lef

Why do you plan to go to DS to activate tickets?? When we had a package, we were able to just go to the park and use our tickets on our check in day. We didn't need to go to Guest Relations at all. AP does have to be activated, but you can do that at the guest services window outside a park (and If I were staying at AKL, going to AK would likely be faster than going to DS).

And I think you should buy MM ahead of time if possible, because there is likely a discount for doing so (at least there used to be).

We are a military family so our military salute tickets have to be activated. Also Disney is offering a military discount on memory maker that has to be purchased at guest relations.

THanks for clarifying that. It makes sense now.
