of a building that would be imploding.



CLEARWATER (Bay News 9) -- Kissing his mother, Criss Angel said he promised her that if he survives tonight's Spyglass Resort implosion, it would be his last life-threatening trick.
Angel is a popular illusionist and star of "Mind Freak" on A&E.
"It's going to be one of the biggest, baddest, craziest escapes I've ever done in my career," Angel said.
The old Clearwater Beach hotel is already loaded up with more than 500 sticks of dynamite. Angel will have less than three and half minutes to escape before that dynamite goes off.

"I have to pick my way out of the handcuffs," Angel said. "I have to go through four doors, five padlocks and up four flights of stairs up to the roof."
From the roof he'll grab a ladder hanging from a helicopter and will be flown away to safety.
If he doesn't make it on time, Angel will likely die in the implosion.

Angel says he chose Clearwater because no other city in the country would allow him to perform the dangerous stunt.
"We've been looking for a building now for nine months, and no one would allow me to be in a building that would be imploding," he said. "And so I found that Clearwater and the city officials the building imploding company said okay."
The entire escape attempt will be aired live on A&E.

Millions are expected to watch on national television, and a crowd of 10,000 is expected to show up on the beach to watch in person.
Angel says while he knows there's a possibility he could be killed, the chances are slim.
"I'm not going to take any chances that I feel are very high risk chances," Angel said. "And I'm not going to mislead you and say, 'Oh, I think I'm going to end up dead.' I wouldn't do this if I thought that."


o_o He's so crazy!! But I'm hoping he makes it out alive! Is anybody going to watch this tonight? Its going to be on A&E from 7pm Central time and 10pm EST time.

Criss Angel is the king of crazy, mindblowing, scary stunts.
I'm amazed he can pull off half the stuff he does.
Granted, we spend time in science class figuring out how he does it, but this is sincerely real. I'm so worried to watch tonight.

Well, there's chance's he could make it and there's chance's that he won't make it. You don't know for a fact that he really would take his life by doing this. He has what? 3 min. to complete this? Thats really insane. But, if he makes it.. my hats off to him. He's almost turning into the that magicain who went in a box underwater and died or whatever. Criss Angle could or won't die tonight. Just saying, and I hope he makes it out alive with this trick. Its just so INSANE! Btw, I'm going to watch this tonight and see what happens.

Criss Angel is amazing. I just watched the walk on lake show last night. [[I hate how he grew a mustache and beard....]] -- But if he's going to do that stunt up there that you posted, I'm gonna freak out if something did happen to him....

I am going to watch it but to tell you the truth I think it probably was pre-recorded stuff of him escaping and all he has to do is wait at the top of the building and just hide there. A lot of the stuff he does isn't real like the levetating from building to building, I could tell it was green screened.

And I hope I am right about this.

I use to be a huge fan of him when I was in the 6th and 7th grade.
His stunts were decent.

Yeah.

He'll probably be "injured" though, to add some drama.

Plus.. its not even live, and since it isnt, someone would have found out and put it on wikipedia. PLUS..

"Mindfreak Season 4 debuted on July 23, 2008, and the show is scheduled to run for two more seasons after that."
