Here are the ratings for Criminal Minds and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. During the first hour of CM, it was up against American Idol, which won the time slot.

"American Idol Ratings:
Demo 18-49: 7.8
Viewers : 10,253 million

Criminal Minds from 9:00 to 9:30
Demo 18-49: 3.4
Viewers : 13.41 million

Criminal Minds from 9:30 to 10:00
Demo 18-49: 3.9
Viewers: 15.248 million

Criminal Minds went against a half an hour of American Idol and a new Modern Family episode and did very well, adding more 1.837 million viewers and a 0.5 demo at the half hour.
Congratulation to cast and crew!

Criminal Minds: SB from 10:00 to 10:30
Demo 18-49: 2.8
Viewers: 10.728 million

Criminal Minds:SB from 10:30 to 11:00
Demo 18-49: 2.5
Viewers: 9.911 million

Criminal Minds: SB lost 4.52 million viewers and 1.4 demo from its leading in, Criminal Minds and at the half hour it lost another 817 000 viewers and 0.3 demo. Also, CM:SB had very weak competition as NBC Law & Order: SVU was in rerun and ABC Off The map could only manage 4.984 million viewers and demo 1.7. "

Seems like many other people had our same reaction to CM: SB and tuned out during the last half.

With a repeat of CM tonight, we'll have to see how CM: SB does, as there probably won't be as many viewers watching the repeat, and CM: SB may be on it's own to pull in viewers.

Thanks for taking the time to look for and post the great pictures Imzadi! :thumbsup2

I really look forward to the 9 o'clock hour on Wednesday nights. But since tonight is a repeat I'm kind of bummed out. It dawned on me that Wednesday is the only night I really watch TV. That's not to say that it's not always on, because it is. I use it more for background noise. The only shows I really watch are CM, love it when A&E shows back to back episodes, and the home inmprovement and home buying shows on HGTV.

Is it next Wednesday yet? popcorn:: :rotfl: I just saw the preview for next week again. I can't wait!

In non-CM news, you may remember me mentioning my college applications a few weeks ago. I recieved my first acceptance letter on Monday!!! From my first choice :dance3:

I watched most of SB tonight. I just don't care for it. I don't like the character interaction, the way the words are said, etc. It seems to me a cross between NCIS and CM. Even the way Penelope talked seemed off. I won't be watching anymore.

Tonight was also the first part of the finale for Top Chef All-Stars on Bravo. I wonder how it did against CM: SB, and whether it drew people (like me :rotfl:) away.

I wonder how much time they'll give CM: SB. It took a while for Law & Order: Criminal Intent to hit its stride.

Interesting, though - it doesn't look like JJ came back just for a funeral - she comes in and says, "Let's get to work." Maybe she's back??

And congratulations on your acceptance! That's so exciting! I remember when my d got her first acceptance (not from her first choice). She just danced around singing, "I'm going to college! I'm going to college!" Now the rest of the waiting is easier!

This is clearly not a popular opinion here but I am starting to like CM:CB, last nights' episode sort of reeled me in. It was about a LDSK (long distance serial killer) which is a repeat of an unsub type but a totally different storyline. I will continue to watch it and give it more time for them to work out the kinks.

One thing that's bothering me is why in the crossover episode was Cooper and Hotch worried about Strauss when the "red cell" FBI group only answer to the director of the FBI, who is a man and not Strauss??? Did I miss something there?

Congrats Tink!!

Thank you! :goodvibes I did the "I'm going to college" dance too  I was so excited to know I had a place to go next year!

I heard JJ was only back for one show ??

J.J. is only coming back for one episode as far as I know. The "Let's get to work" comment is because she's getting called in to work on the Doyle case, because it's an international issue.

I think that's right...Imzadi? :upsidedow

As for CM: SB, I did watch last night. Sort of. I had it on the whole time but I just couldn't focus on it. It never really caught my attention. I'm really not feeling the characters at all :sad2:

Thanks for taking the time to look for and post the great pictures Imzadi! :thumbsup2

You're welcome. :goodvibes It's actually fun to look at the Twitter pics. They've become so much more interesting than static publicity stills, now that the stars are figuing out how to use Twitter. Some of those candids of Shemar are the ultimate in eye candy. :faint:

He's the only one on the show who doesn't do Twitter. I guess he's too cool, moves too fast, and can't be bothered with people Tweeting him all the time. :cool2:

TG gets Tweets several times a day from gals with, "Please Tweet me a Hello. I've tweeted every day, hoping for a hello from you." He finally tweets them back a hello. Those are the public ones we SEE because he answered back. I can't imagine having my phone go off 30 times a day with women wanting just a Hello. :headache:

Then he's had people Tweeting him how they wish the show would get rid of Seaver & bring back J.J.

He's good natured about all the Tweets. He puts his foot down at the end of the day, telling people good nite & that he's going back to work, so they stop Tweeting him. But, I just can't imagine getting all those Tweets all day. :headache:

I also keep the TV on in the background as white noise. I can't stand libraries, which are so quiet, every noise stands out. It's better for me to have some white noise in the background & then I can tune out the whole thing.

Congrats! I remember well, it is a major relief just to get an acceptance. But, when you get one from your first choice, it's such a joy.

Yes, I'm not feeling the characters either. I loosely watched. I kept flipping channels, because I really wanted to see Top Chef, and my new-to-me TV is missing a plug-in in the back, to tape one show while watching another. CM: SB seemed like it got more interesting in this episode, especially at the end, but the team, just doesn't seem to gel well for me. There's no one on the team I really care about.

F. Whitaker is a great actor, but the show show seems overly-dramatic to me. Like he's looking for moments to do Academy Award acting. Last week, I realized I tuned out when he started getting into the head of the unsub and started acting like him. Someone even said to him, how do you do this all the time, and he said, "I don't have to stay in there." I felt it was disingenuous to being a profiler, and it pulled me out of the show.

From the different profilers I've seen - the 8 profilers on CM, including Gideon & Elle, the FBI profilers on Silence With the Lambs, who were patterned after the real, original, first profilers of the BAU, to real ones I see interviewed on CNN, and security expert Gavin De Becker, who does his own profiling to keep clients safe, they try to stay detached, and not emotionally go into unsubs head, in order to stay healthy.

Can a profiler get emotional and get really in character to profile? I suppose there may be some, but to do it for 25+ years as Cooper does and stay healthy? I doubt it. :confused3

One thing that's bothering me is why in the crossover episode was Cooper and Hotch worried about Strauss when the "red cell" FBI group only answer to the director of the FBI, who is a man and not Strauss??? Did I miss something there?

This is bugging me, too. I even Googled the different ranks & hierarchy at the FBI. There was no definitive answer I got, except there might be a lot of Assistant Directors at the FBI. :confused3 There are a few Directors of different divisions of operations. But, no one explained how one is to tell the difference between those "directors" and THE one top, head director of the whole FBI. Like are people just supposed to know him by name and know he's the head of the whole thing? :confused3

The current head Director of the whole FBI has been personally appointed by Pres. George W. Bush, until his time runs out & the next president gets to appoint one. If that position is such a big deal, and it's this guy, why is he going to visit Cooper? :confused3 Wouldn't he be too busy and important? It would be like Hillary Clinton taking time out to go to the gym to see Cooper. :confused3

So maybe Strauss & this other director are just assistant directors, but people don't say the "assistant" part. Like sometimes Hotch, Rossi & Morgan go by Supervisory Special Agent, and sometimes they just refer to themselves as Special Agent. :confused3

I think that's right...Imzadi? :upsidedow

As far as I know, all the cast Twitter about her saying it's only for this one show.

They DO all refer to next week's episode as Paget's last episode. :(

. . . Of course contract negotiations are still up in the air for next season. I have a couple articles to dig up and post about that, which include TG & Shemar.

I can almost guarantee that he has a phone dedicated only to Tweets. I'm sure some of the answers "he" Tweets to people are actually done by publicists/assistants, and that the cast members personally Tweet a whole lot less!

I was thinking that too.

Like in the old days when you'd write a letter to a celebrity. I read some article a long time ago that gave away secrets of the business and it said that letters were screened and answered by the celeb's "people". Very few, those that were really heart pulling ones, were actually answered by the actual celeb.

People have TWO iphones? I couldn't even work one when someone lost theirs in a taxi and I tried to figure out how to get it back to them.

Thank you! :goodvibes I only applied to two schools, so I would've been happy with an acceptance from either one, but I'm so glad it was my first choice!

You were in a taxi? Was this before or after that episode of CM a few weeks ago?! :rotfl:

This would also explain why the their Twitter pictures suddenly got a whole lot more interesting in the last few weeks - especially the eye candy ones of Shemar. Only a woman would know we want eye candy pictures of him, not just feet shots. And he'd more likely pose sexier for a gal taking a pic than if one of the guys took a pic of him.  :faint:

I bet they hand their camera phones to the makeup artist. She seems to have the best shots (like the one above,) and time to take pics while they are working. :magnify:

I get to visit a makeup artist friend from time to time, when the security isn't so tight on NYC sets. They mostly work in between shots, right before filming to do retouches. During actual shooting, they are off to the side, keeping an eye out for problems. But, otherwise it is down time for them and they can do other stuff. There is usually 2-3 makeup artists on a show or film, to do the whole cast.

You were in a taxi? Was this before or after that episode of CM a few weeks ago?! :rotfl:

This was before that episode. I've known for a loooooong time that NYC cab drivers are wacko.
screwy2.gif
If tourists only knew. :scared1: :sad2: That episode just added another thing to a very long NYC cab driver list to worry about them. :scared:

For example: If NYC has just gotten hit with a blizzard, and there is major snow and sheets of ice on the ground, do NOT get into a cab with a driver who has a thick Jamaican accent. Other than the Olympic Jamaican bobsledders, these drivers really have never experienced snow before, let alone driven over ice & snow! Some of them may have only arrived in NYC the week before and have just gotten their cab license. :scared1:

I hailed down a cab after an icy storm. It stopped. I had my hand positioned to grab the door handle, when another cab right behind him, starts being his horn like crazy. My driver steps on the gas and accelerates just in time to get out of the way, as the cab behind him SKIDS right through the spot where my cab driver had been stopped. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: He didn't know how to stop on ice. Luckily, I hadn't been climbing halfway in. :sad2:

Then, since my driver was now several feet forward, and this driver's cab was pretty much in front of me, he asks in a heavy Jamaican/island accent if I want to get in HIS cab instead. Uh, NOOOO!!! :scared1:

I think I've only been in a cab once. It was when I was in Seattle with my mom and grandma. I was 11, so I was naive to the dangers of cabs ;)

So, I keep hearing that we're going to need tissues on Wednesday. But I'm also hearing that there's still a chance Paget will come back next year...I have a theory. They're going to kill Prentiss off, BUT if Paget ends up coming back they'll say that they just had to pretend she was dead while she went into hiding or something like that. But in case Paget doesn't come back, they'll just stick with Prentiss being dead. Maybe? :confused3

She's filming a pilot for NBC. http://www.tvline.com/2011/03/paget-brewster-my-life-as-an-experiment-pilot-nbc/

I was thinking about the same thing. Maybe, :scratchin Doyle gets away, so, if Paget comes back, they can pretend that Prentiss was dead. Similar to when she pretended to be that other identity that was supposed to have been killed in a car accident, so he wouldn't go after her if he escaped. If she doesn't come back, she's really dead.

I'm glad for Paget that she was able to get a pilot. What the CM producers did to her, telling her Prentiss character was expendable was sucky. :p But, last I read, (before your update,) ABC, which produces CM, and CBS which airs CM, both agreed NOT to give Paget any pilots as they each want her back on CM. With two of the big three major networks out of the running, that leaves only NBC, Fox, HBO and lesser cable channels offering pilots.

Also, just because she is able to film a pilot doesn't mean it will get picked up by the network and air. Many pilots, after being viewed never become TV series. Then, even after they air, they still have to wait the fate of whether the series will keep running or get canceled.

Paget takes a gamble by going with the pilot. However, Thomas Gibson & Shemar Moore, BOTH will be renegotiating their contracts at the end of this season. If they feel that the show, in the next several episodes, has jumped the shark, they may not come back, or may want to do a similar deal as Paget, coming back for only one more season, till a better pilot comes along.

TG did that once already. He, himself, in his own words, was on an interview for Dharma & Greg, saying how Chicago Hope, had jumped the shark.

If either of them leave, I think that will be the end of my watching CM. :( That will be too many of the core cast gone.

Paget Brewster Tests Sitcom Waters As Fate Of Some 'Criminal Minds' Actors Is Uncertain

By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Friday February 11, 2011

Will Paget Brewster be back on Criminal Minds next season? CBS certainly hopes so, I hear the network recently gave her an offer to return to the crime drama as a full-fledged regular next season. But as part of her modified deal for this season, in which she was asked to scale back her duties as a regular on the show (though she ended up being in every episode so far), Brewster was allowed to do a pilot for next fall, and she is using the opportunity. Brewster has already been approached for 3 Fox comedy pilots. She has comedy history at the network, having co-starred in the underrated Andy Richter Controls the Universe and done voice-over work on American Dad. Brewster is free to do pilots at any network/studio, but because CBS and ABC Studios, which produces Criminal Minds with CBS TV Studios, want her back on the show, I hear CBS, ABC and their studios will be refraining from offering her pilots to not compete with Criminal Minds for her services. "We'd hope that she would stay, she has the option to do so,"CBS' entertainment president Nina Tassler said at TCA last month.

Because of her situation, I hear Brewster's storyline on Criminal Minds this season will end with a cliffhanger that will allow the producers to bring her back or write her off if needed.

Brewster is not the only Criminal Minds cast member whose return to the show next season is uncertain at the moment. The deals for stars Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore are up at the end of this season and I hear the two are nowhere near new pacts. Matthew Gray Gubler and Joe Mantegna have another year on their contracts, though I hear Gubler has been seeking a salary bump. Kristen Vangsness got a new deal in the summer as she also co-stars on the Criminal Minds spinoff.

So, basically, Prentiss is dying on Wednesday. We just won't know if it's permanent for a while. So I will need tissues :guilty:

I don't think the show could survive looking Thomas, Shemar, or MGG. So far it's survived JJ, it'll probably survive Prentiss. I think it could survive losing Garcia and maybe Rossi, but it NEEDS Hotch, Morgan, and Reid.

I'm still hoping that the viewers will skyrocket this week and they'll decide to bring JJ back :rolleyes1 I'm gonna be so happy to see her again! I was happy just seeing her in the preview. Except I hate that she's listed as a guest star. I miss seeing her in the main cast :sad2:

That or Strauss reams her out so badly for not following protocols, leaving during the case, and not informing her team that she knew vital info on the unsub, etc. that she's fired, suspended from the FBI, until further notice.

But, if you scroll down to the pictures I posted in this post, HERE, while you were away, many people here noted how the whole team is all dressed in black and J.J. looks like she had been crying. We have a pretty good set of profilers among us, :thumbsup2 with our years of watching, that think this looks like a possible set ups for a funeral scene. :sad1:

On a lighter front:
Here's a rather, umm, interesting photo of the gang fooling around:
