Cricut Jukebox?

My wife asked that I post this for her.

Do any of you have any experience with the Circut Jukebox?

If I understand it correctly, it plugs into your Cricut, but allows you to use several (6, I think) cartridges by just pressing its buttons, rather than plugging each individual cartidge one-at-a-time into the Cricut. The Jukeboxes can also be linked to two others for, I think, a total of 18 cartridges.

She would like to hear any comments, positive or negative, that anyone might have.

TIA!!

I have a Jukebox, and everything you posted is correct. It is nice to just push a button to change the cartridge, but you still need to dig out the template overlay if you store it in the original boxes as I do.

An issue for me is that the connecting cable for the jukebox to the cricut machine is not very long. It places the Jukebox immediately to the right of the machine even with the machine. I wish there was more flexibility to where you could put the Jukebox. I would imagine those who are left handed would think so too.

I agree with Lisa, the short cord is the only drawback I see so far. Otherwise, I love it! I have been using mine like crazy since it came out of the box.

Thanks, everyone for your replies.

My wife got hers yesterday and will be playing with it over the weekend.

I see what you mean about the short cord!

Thanks, again!!!

After having the Jukebox for a few more weeks, I've decided I don't care for it.:guilty: It is more hassle than it is worth since I don't have Design Studio. I kept having to get out the overlay when I switched the cart. the short cord limited where I could put the box next to my cricut, just didn't work out. I've unplugged the Jukebox and it is now tucked under my scrapbooking desk to collect dust.:confused3

Really???? That totally stinks Lisa! I love mine. :guilty:

Oh no Lisa thats not good. I was thinking of getting one if they go on sell soon. I don't have DS either but I do mix the cartridges alot (I like to dress up the characters). I will really have to think about this now. Maybe I need DS too!!:rotfl:

I got what I felt was a good deal on my Jukebox, I paid $55. I guess I need to think about getting DS but I have SCAL and I don't want to get into problems with that if I install DS.

I have it and use it with DS. I absolutely love it and never ever have to use the overlays.

Agree, the only drawback is the length of the cord.

How do you use scal without design studio? I thought that was a must, in order to get the firmware? The new version of scal apparently allows for the updated version of ds. I LOVE my design studio - and unless i'm cutting a one - off item, or a whole page of one item, I use it.

The short cord on the juke box would do me in - my table is only as wide as the cricut and the machine requires the space in front of and behind it in order to work.

I only had to install the trial version of DS to get the firmware I needed for SCAL.
