cricut expression question- update in post #12!

hi disers,

I was cutting with my expression and my SCAL program and left it (while cutting) to take out the trash- took about 2 minutes. I came back and the cricut was powered off. I canNOT get it to turn back on.

ugh. I am not even as upset about losing my cricut...I was in the middle of making a gift for someone and really want to get that finished for her!

my question is....isn't there usually a little green light on on the power cord? The light is not lit green. I have tried it in multiple outlets and I know the outlets work....what the heck!?!?!

Yes, there is a little green light on the box thing of the power cord.
Maybe it just needs a little break.. give it 30 and try again...

the cord isn't warm or anything....but i've unplugged it and am letting it go until the morning. Maybe I'll wake up and it will miraculously work again?

Thank you so much for checking for the green light- if it doesn't work in the morning I will call the company to see if I can purchase a replacement cord- maybe that's all it is???

Figures this would happen after I've asked for cricut accessories for Christmas! Santa does see all so hopefully he'll know not to bring those anymore.

I had something like this happen once and needed to get a replacement for the cord pieces from provocraft. Mine was still under warrenty at the time but they can send them out.

I'm glad to know I could get a replacement cord! I am pretty sure I am out of the warranty timeline but I'd be willing to purchase the cord.

Also nice to know I am not alone....hopefully the cord is the only problem.

It is still not working. One of my coworkers is bringing her cord in for me tomorrow morning to try before I call! I am lucky I work with crafty people

Thank you for these instructions but I don't think they'll help with my problem ....the first step is to turn the machine on...and I can't! boo. Hopefully it's just the cord.

Even if your Expression is out of warranty, it's still worth it to call. I had a problem with mine this past year and called. It was two years out of warranty (3 years old) and I really just wanted their help in diagnosing the problem. After we did the diagnosing, they put me on hold and came back and said they were going to replace my machine. I sent mine back and they sent me a refurbished working one in its place. The refurbished one looked and worked like brand new and included a mat and cartridge that I didn't already have!

I am now scrambling to finish my pollyanna's gift for tomorrow morning and grinning ear to ear.

Even if your Expression is out of warranty, it's still worth it to call. I had a problem with mine this past year and called. It was two years out of warranty (3 years old) and I really just wanted their help in diagnosing the problem. After a wonderful holiday weekend and 36 minutes of hold time, I got in touch with PC and they are sending me a cord free of charge!

Just wanted to update everyone! I should have my cord within 2 weeks and then it is back to scrapping.

That is great news.. 2 weeks give you time to pull paper, select photos, sketch designs and you can hit the ground running in the new year!!!!
