Cricut Design Space, fonts not working properly on IMAC

Hello,

Hope someone might be able to help.
I am using IMAC pc and when using purchased font off the certain website and that is downloaded does not work properly when I want to make the word Bold or Italic etc.
The fonts that came with pc work fine.
Would anyone know way around it and how it would make it work?
Spoke with cricut support and same with apple but neither were able to help.
Anyone had the same issue that was able to resolve?
