I think they are actually pack n plays, right? Anyway, we're staying at POFQ and AKL and it would be nice if we didn't have to bring our pack n play with us. How clean are they? Are they newer ones, in good shape? Do they charge you for them?
The only time I had a pak n play is in our DVC room. When we stayed at the YC we had a real crib in there. It was a metal frame and very close to full size, if not full size. There are no charge for the cribs.
On our first trip 2002 they actually provided a metal crib. Our last trip it was a pack n play. It was clean. I always bring my own sheet just in case.
They are free of charge.
I was just at PO-FQ last July. There was not a portable crib in my room (I just looked through my photos and didn't find any pictures of one). I'm sure a simple call to the Front Desk could have fixed that situation.
In all the rooms/suites that I have stayed in at the AKL, there were portable cribs in the closets: click here for a photo.
We were at POFQ in early December and requested a crib. They brought us a pack and play but when I opened it up it was full of cracker crumbs and what looked like a shredded napkin. They gave us 2 clean sheets, but the sheet from the previous kid was still in the pack and play so they obviously never cleaned it.
I did call the desk and complain and mousekeeping brought a different pack and play which had brown "gunk" on the mattress. After that we just gave up and had DD sleep with us.
When we go back in April I'll be taking my own pack and play since we drive to WDW.
Thank you for the info. That's nice that AKL has them already in every room!
But cathy, your reply made me decide I'm just going to bring ours...that sounds gross and I don't want to get caught in that situation. Thanks for sharing your experience!!
