Does anyone know if the cribs offered for the rooms at the Dolphin are "Porta cribs" or "Real full sized ones"? Does the hotel provide sheets for the cribs? DD does not like to sleep in the porta cribs. Thank you in advance.

I believe I have read on the S/D thread that it is a full crib with heavenly bed linens provided.

When we stayed there for the first time with our son in March 2003, it was one of those metal half-sized cribs. Definitely not full sized although much better than a porta crib.

We ended up renting a crib after the first night because our 17mnth old DS was probably the size of a 2 1/2 year old and it was much too small for him. When he stood up the rail only came up to just above his waist. I would not hesistate recommending using the crib for an infant but once they are standing I would think about renting a crib.

If you are renting A Baby's Best Friend is the best company. The cribs are trully full sized and absolutely spotless.

Thank you for all the info. I think the half sized crib will be fine as Kennedy is only going to be 5 months. She will sleep OK in that . Thanks again. We will be using the Baby's Best Friend for a swing and excersaucer though...we will need them!!!

When I made my ressies at the Dolphin, I had the choice of a porta crib or a "regular" one. We chose the regular which is smaller than our crib at home, but definitely better than the portacrib. It came with a sheet and crib blanket. Ours was plenty deep enough. It had been moved to the lowest setting.

I don't know if you will have room for both a swing and exersaucer in a standard room when you already have a crib in there. If you need the swing to get the baby to sleep, I would try to rent one of the new portable swings that doesn't take up much room. Instead of the exersaucer, we just had a bunch of toys that attached to the stroller and would put the baby in there in our room. That also helped with feeding solids, if you're going to be at that point.

We used the metal portacrib style crib many times at the S/D and yes they are larger than a regular sized portacrib but smaller than a standard crib.

My dd slept in one of those when she was 3! She was of average size and it was fine but she always liked being in a crib and never tried to get out. It was shortly after that trip that (she was about 3 1/2 when she went into a bed), of course then she discovered she could get in and out!
