Crib - Which BCV Room? Can it be Moved? How Does it Get There?

Me again, and let me preface my newest question by saying - my trip is in just a few days, and my brain is on overload. I do promise to keep helping others on this board, just like I am being helped. And after I return from my first trip "home," I will post a report and be ready and willing to share my newly found DVC knowledge. Anyway...

We are renting a crib from Children's Furniture Rental, and they have promised to have it setup for us when we arrive. I have several questions...

1.) What room should it go in? We have a two bedroom BCV (are DVC Members). We could do our room, the LR, or the second bedroom with Gram and DS #1 (age 3). I am still nursing DS #2 (age 1), and he does wake up 1 - 2 times per night.

2.) Will the crib fit through the doors, in case we need to move it? This particular rental place sets up and takes down the crib, so it is not like we can just disassemble it and reassemble ourselves. How big are the doors? Our doors at home aren't big enough to fit a real crib through, and this is a real crib.

3.) How can they get the crib in the room before we check-in? Will the resort assign our room before we check-in? I guess that's really a question for the rental company, but I thought maybe some of you had experience with them.

Thanks!

Char!!!

You are SOOO funny!!! I cannot believe this is going to be your first trip home!!! You have been on the boards a lot longer than me, and I have always considered you an "expert" on these boards...I make sure I read any posts that have your name on them...and, now...to see you asking all these questions....well, it just reminds me that everyone is human!!! ;)

I hope you have a WONDERFUL trip....I wish I could help you with your questions, but my DD NEVER slept in a crib....just curled up next to me :earboy2:

I look forward to reading your trip report when you get home. And, I PROMISE...if you post any questions that I actually CAN answer...I will certainly do so!!!

Beca, you made my night! I just love to research, plan, write, and be helpful, so I guess that lets me fit in like an ole pro here :teeth: I have actually planned trips for several co-workers and friends with massive all inclusive iteneraries - free of charge! Also gave advice to some of my renters - had to rent out 2004 Points to make ends meet. I feel like I've been to Disney World 100 times, but actually I've only been there twice in my life.

Anyway, if you think I'm helpful now, just wait until I get back from this trip. It's funny, my job is just a job to me, but things like this, posting questions and answers on the DIS board, chating with people such as yourself...this makes me truly happy. The DIS is a wonderful place that gives me lots of fun, stress relief, and good vibes :goodvibes

:disrocks: AND SO DO YOU!

We stayed at BCV last month and used a pack n play (not a full size crib) which we placed in the master suite. The doorways seem to be standard size and I don't think a full size crib could be moved without disassembly first. I posted a trip report in March and there was some discussion about where to place the crib. Maybe that thread could help you with your decision(http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=770461&highlight=ddhoeg). Hope it helps and have a great trip!! Looking forward to reading your report when you return!

With a little one who is nursing during the night, I would want to be as close as possible so I could pick him up while still half asleep and to minimize disturbance to others in our unit and especially other units. ;)

I think the best fit in the master bedroom might be where the desk is usually placed. You could move the desk by the sliding glass door or window. It might be a little tight but if you need to have a full size crib.....

Enjoy those days of nursing, it is a precious time. But I can tell you already know that since you are still nursing at 1. :goodvibes
