We are leaving one week from today for WDW!!! :woohoo: We are staying at Shades of Green. We have been there before, but never with our dd, this is her first trip! :cheer2: princess: Anyway, I am not sure if we should request a pack n play or a crib. I spoke to the girl I usually deal with there and she said that they have both available but that they are slowly getting rid of the cribs. I saw one once and it was a metal crib so I am not sure if that is what I want. What would you suggest? Have you had experience with either? DD sleeps in a pack n play for naps at her Grandma's and at the babysitters about 3 times a week but hass never slept over night in one.

So, long story short, which one would you choose? Thank you for your help!

If she sleeps in a Pack N play why would you even consider something different? Get the pack N play she will be right at home, maybe even bring her sheet or blanket from that bed.

Thanks! She does sleep in her crib at home, she sleeps in it more than the pack n play. I just want her to sleep well while we are there.

We leave 1 week from today too  I'm in debate about the sleeping situation too! Our DD's are very close in age, my DD will be 18 months on Monday. We stayed at the Poly in Feb and she slept great in the crib but now that she's a little older, hard to tell what will happen! I requested the crib and if it doesn't work, I can hopefully get a pack n play. Sorry I haven't been much help but I had to post since we will be there at the same time and our DD's are so close in age! Have a great trip!! :goodvibes

Brooklynn slept in a pack and play on our trip this summer. She is very used to her crib, but did great in the pack and play. We'll be using one again in a week and a half when we are down there.

We always preferred the pack n' plays. I can't say why but we did. We used to bring our own though so maybe that's why? We also brought their lovies, this small musical toy that we used to wind up (that all three kids slept with) and their blankies.

If your DD is ok with sleeping in the PNP, I'd go with that. My kids have never had a problem using the PNP on vacation. I always bring my own PNP sheets though. I think having sheets that smell like home can make it a little easier for baby to get comfy and fall asleep.

Have a great trip with your little girl! :goodvibes

P.S. My DD is named Erin - great name!

If your DD sleeps in a pak n play at home get one of those. My DS doesn't sleep very well in one so we requested a crib on our last trip in Aug. We got a metal crib but our DS's legs kept getting stick i in bewtween the bars and he hit his head a few times too. In the end I put him in the bed with me. He slept better. The crib was nice, but it just didn't work with our little guy.

Oh my gosh, she LOVED it in February!!! We were a little worried about taking her at that age but we realized we worried for no reason. It was by far the best trip we have ever had to WDW :goodvibes She loved meeting the characters at Toontown and we did 2 character breakfasts and 1 character dinner. It was so good in fact that I was able to convince DH to join DVC!You will have the best time! It's so much fun to see WDW through the eyes of a little one! I am actually going twice within the next month :woohoo: I have had a trip planned for next month since March. But my MIL and SIL are going this coming week and invited DD and I to join them for a few days! We are staying at the Grand Floridian and arrive on Saturday, the 29th :yay: We need to compare stories after the trip is over!!!

We had a rude awakening on our first trip with DS who was 8.5 mos at the time. We had not really tried a pnp, and to our surprise, it was horrible. I suspect it was the super-thin mattress in the pnp's. He would not sleep in it at all and he tossed and turned until about 1-2am when we finally got a nice full-sized metal crib from housekeeping. Boy was that a relief. They have nice thick mattresses and were so comfy. It was just like being at home. If SOG still has real cribs, GO FOR IT...honestly, you will be LUCKY to get one. We now have to pay big bucks to rent one. If your DC sleeps in a pnp okay, it may be just fine, but don't let the sound of "metal" scare you...those cribs are wonderful. My 2 cents...good luck!
