Hi all, we will be staying in a 2 bedroom at OKW in March '17 when DS will be 18 months. He sleeps in his crib in a very dark room at home w/ a sound machine. I'm trying to think of a place to put his crib at OKW that will allow him to be in a dark room but still allow the adults to socialize at night. Has anybody ever put a crib in the laundry room at OKW? I've stayed there multiple times, but never with a baby/toddler, so I'm not really certain how it will work out.

Why not put the crib in a bedroom? Then you can socialize in the living room.

The laundry room in OKW is long and narrow with no window. It might be able to fit, but I wouldn't do it.

You could absolutely fit a crib in there. We didn't but it is big enough. Its bigger than my laundry room at home.

When we've stayed there, we have had the twin queen room as our bedroom and out the crib in the wardrobe... Plenty big enough to have it in there, ventilation and it's dark! I wouldn't have used the laundry room as there's no ventilation and the living quarters are right outside so having any light on you'd see in there (especially if you had the door open slightly)

Have a fun trip!

Thanks! The reason we weren't going to put the crib in a bedroom is because he is used to his own room, we don't share a room at home and I'm trying to keep his routine as consistent as possible, but the closet idea in the second bedroom may be a good one. As far as no window goes, I wouldn't keep a window open while he's sleeping regardless, but do run a fan while he's sleeping. The two bedrooms have egress from the laundry room both in the hallway and the bathroom of the master bedroom, so I'm not too worried about access issues for fire safety, if that was what you were referring to.

without ventilation that room could be without air conditioning/ heat vents. that is one reason that the door is open while room used. even with the fan that area could get warm without door open esp in summer. not having a opening window wouldn't change that room getting warm at night

I know the lay outs are not the same at all, but we have used the pack-n-play in one of the bathrooms at BLT. Just another option. Easier when there is the third bathroom at BLT though!

We were going to put the pack n play in the part of the OKW bathroom that has the tub and sink. BUT the noise from the toilet/shower right next door would have been too loud. We just put our son's pack n play in the bedroom with us, as far away from our bed as possible, and made a mini-barricade with a chair to give him "his own space." This worked for us.

Thanks all! I think we'll just play around with strategies when we get there and see what works best for us. I'm hoping he'll be so worn out from his days at Disney that he won't be too affected by the change in sleeping environments. I would put him in the bedroom with us, however DH snores and although I'm used to it, he's not!
