Crib in Cabin Bedroom

Hi, we are booked for the first time in May in a Cabin at the Fort! I have a little one just under 2 who will not sleep anywhere but on his own in a crib. And by crib I mean full size with a regular mattress, not a Pack N Play. We rented a crib and had it delivered when staying at Copper Creek last year. But I am concerned the crib may not fit in the bedroom of the cabin. I am looking between the beds ideally or if needed at the bottom of the bunk beds where the little vanity with mirror and closest is (this is less ideal because of that curtain, but we could secure it with something up high I guess). Does anyone know if one would fit in either of those places? It looks like a typical regular crib is about 28 inches wide. Thanks!

I’m going to say no it won’t fit, pack n play wouldn’t even fit, we had to put pack n play in the living room. Sorry!

I don't think it will fit in a regular Cabin bedroom either, possibly a wheelchair accessible cabin as I believe those are 18in wider. Not that I am advocating booking one just to fit a crib, but someone in the future may read this post who needs a wheelchair accessible cabin and a big crib. The bunks will move around (they have wheels that lock on the bottom) but even so I don't think there would be room as I don't think you could change the bunks to make it fit.

From AllEars this is a pic of the space between the bed and the bunks.

Thanks all! Ugh I was really hoping I could squeeze it between those beds. I am totally fine with having no walking space or access to get into the bunks. And I can climb into the main bed from the bottom too. So basically if that space is exactly the width of the crib (which I checked with the rental and it is actually 30 inches wide) then it could work. It just looks like it would be soooo close and if it is just an inch too small we are out of luck. We may have to go up to a One Bedroom Deluxe Villa instead just to fit the crib. May have to put the Fort off until he is another year older.

As a suggestion what about getting/renting bed rails for the bottom bunk..

We had planned a family get away and rented a cabin in the mountains - our grandson was 23 months at the time ... and it said it had a crib... So we get there and the bottom bunk had bed rails set up that was the crib... At first I was thinking that we would just buy a pack and play... and was nervous about him sleeping on the bottom bunk even for one night... and it worked out fine...

When DD and SIL got home they changed his crib into a toddler bed... I got rid of my pack and play, and bought bed rails, and double bed for his room at my house...

Bed rails for my vote also, and ask for extra pillows and place them on the floor. I did the same when my daughter was 2, but she needed the pillows, lol. She moved around a ton when she slept.

have a different take on this having stayed in a cabin. you could put crib in living room and you guys could use the bed room for your space. there is a TV and a door out from the bed room. if you really want him in the bed room look into the bed rails and bottom bunk bed. guess I was just unlucky both my girls were going over the crib rail at just over a year and they learned to stay on a bed

Full size crib won't fit in the bedroom. My boys are all TALL and would not fit in a pack and play at that age. They were fine in the lower bunk with a bed rail from about 18 months up.

Did you have a bed rail just on the side or also on the bottom? We are staying at the cabins over July 4 and my son will be 18 months. We stayed last year and he slept in our pack and play, but I worry it'll be too small for him, so we're considering letting him sleep on the bed with rails. But I'm also worried he might try to climb out the bottom or climb up the ladder. LOL.

When we stayed last summer my son slept in our pack and play. We put it in between the bunk bed at the vanity. It was VERY tight. Full size crib would definitely not fit, unless you're able to turn the bunk beds to make space for it.

not sure how he would get to the ladder to climb. he could climb inside but would hit the bottom of upper bunk and not sure how he would be able to climb out bottom of bunks. had one grandson who hated rails and would kick them out. so I would expect that more than other

It's too bad the bottom bunk does not have the same lock system as the top bunk does for the safety rail. For those that haven't seen them they have a lock that uses a key. That way you could request a second set or request that the top bunk rails be put at the bottom.

This pic is from the WL, but they look to be the same bunk bed type and you can see the locks

You only need a bed rail on the side. The other side has the wall, and there is a headboard and foot board. I doubt he will try to climb up the ladder unless he sees an older sibling do it, and even then unlikely as it would be hard to reach it. I have three boys. They're all a bit crazy, but they never tried to climb the ladder at that young age.

good to know! Thanks. I couldn’t tell from the photos how big the footboard is.

It's a twin bed if that helps. Found a better pic, again it's a WL bunk but the same as FW and goes right against the wall in the Cabins
