I'm sure this happens a lot in this place, and this was awhile ago. At the beginning of December.

But we were in there and both our girls were getting makeovers. When we were leaving, my wife notices this guy coming up behind other mothers and taking pictures of the girls. He was so smooth, smiling and laughing like he was with each group. My wife noticed him after he had taken a picture of our youngest. He was alone, dressed nicely in a 3 piece suit.

As he started to leave the store we confronted him, and asked him why he took a picture of our daughter. He played dumb, saying he was from France, and it was just that our daughter was so beautiful. Then he just took off into the Grand Californian Hotel before I could make him erase the picture of our daughter. We did find a couple of police officers and reported it, but really, what are they going to do?

Looking back, I just wish we would have confronted him in the store where other mothers and fathers could have got involved.

Anyways, when we are on vacation, we always let our guard down a bit, especially in the happiest place on earth. But the creeps are always out there.

Eew. Yes, I admit I have become much more aware of this kind of thing. There was someone arrested at a public park for taking pics of girls on the swings when their dresses fly up. Eew.

We are always on alert at DL for creeps and childnappers. My neice who was 6 at the time was almost taken once in the crowd at DL. My BIL and SIL were tending to my 2 younger neices, and my older neice was taken by the hand by a stranger in the split second my BIL turned away. Luckily, he saw her being led away and caught up with the stranger, who claimed that she mistakenly thought it was her child. When my BIL took a quick look at my neice, the woman vanished into the crowd.

What a shame this had to happen at DL. My DH and I took my BIL's experience as a warning to always keep our kids close by, especially during vacation when we're in unfamiliar territory and strangers are everywhere.

Wow, that would really give me the creeps. What is WRONG with people?

Good for you for confronting him!! How scary....you really can never be too careful no matter where you are unfortunately.

It's sad that we have to be so vigilant over our children, but we do have to be that way. I only have one child so keeping an eye on her is pretty easy...but throw in a few more kids, it would be rough.

I had a group of Chinese tourists take a few pictures of my daughter when we were in DCA after a Club Libby Lu makeover. They asked my permission before taking the pictures though. They said they just thought she was so cute and wanted to show their relatives back home...I thought that was sweet. I'm usually overly suspicious, but trusted my instinct with this one that it was okay. She was 6 at the time and feeling very pretty after her makeover and was happy to have her picture taken.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we went to the Hannah Montana concert in Seattle and we were right at the catwalk she performs on. There was a 40-something man getting way too close to my daughter and other little girls. I told him in no uncertain terms that he needed to step back and give the little girls space. Once he realized there was an angry parent, he disappeared shortly thereafter. Creepy indeed!

Wow- that stinks. I'm really glad that we only have one DD so that it will be easier for us to keep tabs on her. I was thinking earlier that I wish I could just tie her right to me so I never have to worry about someone making off with her.

I'm sorry that creep bothered you and took that picture.

Here in the east coast, we can them pedophiles.

Trust your instinct and next time, take his picture with your camera or camera phone and call authorities. The possibility is high that he's a sex offender wanted somewhere.
