can you use a credit card with a smaller limit than 1500.00? on ship like 1000.00 or less ? can you put cash down??instead?

I can't remember if I gave them a CC # because we brought cash and on day 1 I put about $500 down and then about 2 or 3 more times throughout the 7 day cruise we would just go to cust. service and pay off balance. That way we never had to charge anything (hence-no bills after cruise) and could also watch our spending!! Plus this way you can check for mistakes on your bill easier--it' s all fresh in your mind. I may have initially given them a CC#-- and it may have even been my check card w/ visa logo--they don't care (or know) what your credit limit is--as long as by the last day it gets paid somehow!! The cash system is my favorite. You can give them as much as you want at a time--we usually were in the plus. And then we stored the remainder in our safe to use at ports.:)

Yes you can use a smaller card. They put charges on the card every couple of days not all at once. You can also pay in cash, travellors checks at the end of the cruise. We alwys find it easier to just let the card be charged and send the entire amount to the credit card company when we get home. It saves time and hassles.

can you pay off your tab with disney dollars too???

We always per pay our onboard credits through Magical Treasurers 1-800-601-8455. They do ask for a CC# when we check-in at the port. Plus, you are asked from a CC# when you fill out your docs. I don't think they check your credit line balance.
We are a family of 3 (DD is only 6 so she doesn't charge anything), yet. We have found that $500. covers our spending aboard. We do pay the tips with cash.
