Credit Card on MDE app

Right now my husband's credit card is on file on MDE for online check in and for web/app purchases. It is my MDE and he is on my family/friends list. Next trip it'll be myself and DD going without him. We like to use our MB's and charge back to the room. I will also use the card for any mobile ordering and ILL purchases. (G+ is already added to our tickets)

Will there be an issue with his card being used on my account if he isn't on the trip? We don't have the same last name either. We prefer to use his card since it gets much better rewards points. I will have my own credit card with me in case there's an issue and I have to change the card.

I guess I can remember the number if I’m asked or it needs to be entered. Our first day is a non park day. I’ll try out the MB that day and if there’s any issues I’ll switch out the card. The next day is MK and I may be purchasing ILL and doing mobile ordering. Hoping I can catch any glitches that day before our big DHS the following day.

My husband never has issues charging things to the resort account via MB, even though it’s my CC in the account - he simply needs to enter his PIN. He’s never done a mobile order, but as long as the CC attached to the MDE account you’re using is valid, those charges should go through just fine. Finally, if you’re an authorized user on that CC, there shouldn’t be any trouble at all.

My husband's credit card is on my MDE account and I have never had any problems charging to the card, even when he wasn't on the trip.

From my experience, you will have an issue with in-app purchases (mobile ordering & genie+ ILLs). My credit card is the one I want my family to use for all travel charges. When I’m not along, anything charged back to the room (via magicband) gets charged to my card at the end of the trip, no problem. It’s wonderfully easy!

However, whether I’m on the trip or not- if someone (husband or older child) places a mobile order on their own device, those are all charged to whatever cc they have in their Apple wallets (and none of them have my preferred card stored). I have found no good answer to this issue… and believe me, I’ve tried!! I’ve placed some orders for them on my device, but that gets to be a pain. In the end, we always work out the money fine- but I usually miss out on a lot of bonus points!

If anyone knows an answer for an entire family’s MDE purchases to all go on one family member’s cc without saving that card into every digital wallet… I’m all ears!!!
