Credit Card linked to MDE and MB question

I am coming down with my son 2 days before my husband is arriving. I want to link his personal credit card to our magic bands and MDE account to use when we are there before him. He needs to keep the card on hand of course for the trip down too. We don't have a card in my name. When I check in, it is giving me the option to link a credit card and currently I have my check card on there but would like to change it to hubby's card for spending. If I do that, are they going to ask for that credit card (hubby's) at check in of my resort? What about if I want to charge a sit down meal or buy a toy? I don't want to cause more trouble than necessary but it sure would be nice to use that particular card for our fun spending rather than my check card. Any idea if this will work if hubby isn't there with the actual card? Thanks!

Easiest thing to do is keep your card on the account until your husband gets there. Then, go up to the front desk and have it changed to his.

They don't actually charge your card for your expenses until you hit the resort limit. At the values, it is $500 and the moderates $1000. (don't know about deluxe - haven't been able to stay at one yet!)

So, unless you spend $500 before your husband gets there, it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks...the issue is that we will be there for 2 days before he arrives and would like to use the card for dinners and purchases too. So, adding it once he arrives negates the reason for this question.

I have been to Disney on several trips in the past and as recently as January but sadly I can't remember anything about check in and what I had to present to them such as driver's license or credit card info.

Can I go in and change my credit card access info after I check in on MDE? Or the app?

I've done on-line check-in more times than I can remember, and they have NEVER asked to see the actual CC.

You can use your Magic Band charge your dinners and purchases. It will only charge to your room account, not your debit card.

Thanks...I'm glad to hear some are not being asked for that card at check in. I honestly don't think I've been asked for one ever either. Nor any other type of ID except maybe one or twice a driver's license.

My issue with changing the card when he gets there is that we are also changing resorts the morning before he arrives...so that will be an issue b/c when I check out they will charge my card (am I right?) at check out for anything I spent up to that point...

Do you have time to ask the credit card company for an additional card on his account n your name? Then you wouldn't have a problem if they asked you and the charges would still go on his account. I have done that for my DD when she went on school trips in case of emergency.

If I was you and you can't get one in your name prior is put his card in online and try to go with it. IF you get there and you have to change it at least you tried.

I called and they said it would be 2-3 weeks to get the card to me in my name. And we leave within that time frame so probably not enough time to get a card with my name.

I think I will try to just add it and if I get down there and they ask for my CC then I'll explain and if necessary just change it to my check card then.

Now I'm curious what people are running into when checking in with CC being shown or not...lol....should I do a poll?

Would be interested to see what the results show...
