A while ago when it was first reported that Disney was going back to the 180-day window for ADRs, I also read that there was a possibility that you would have to leave a credit card number in order to guarantee the reservation, and there would be a penalty for no-shows (kind of like when you book a hotel room with a CC hold). This was pure speculation at the time and I have not read anything that officially announced this was true.

So now that the 180-day window started again a couple of weeks ago, do you also have to give a credit card number to secure an ADR? I don't ever intend to cancel an ADR but if there is a penalty I would like to know what it is, because you never know what could happen (i.e., if one of my children gets sick and we can't make it to the ADR and I have to call to cancel just a couple of hours before). I know that for CRT it is still the same, that you have to pre-pay with a credit card at the time you book. Just curious about the rest of them. We're looking at dinners at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Cape May, Captain's Grille, The Wave, Biergarten, Chefs de France and Whispering Canyon Cafe; and breakfasts at 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe and possibly Ohana. Thanks!

The credit card policy hasn't changed and a credit card for an ADR is still reserved for Signature experiences.

I think the ones you need a credit card to guarantee is CRT, Akershus, dinner shows & signature dining. The other ones in your list you do not need a credit card. I booked Chef mickey's, Cape May dinner & breakfast, Crystal Palace dinner all today and they didn't need a credit card.

The only Signature restaurant you need to leave a cc guarantee for isCalifornia Grill. You also must give a cc guarantee for the dinner shows, Akershus, and the Fantasmic pkgs. CRT must be prepaid, when you book it, unless you are on the DDP, in which case a cc guarantee will be required for it also.

I was just there Sept 26th-Oct 4th and did Signature restaurants every night except twice. The only one that required a cc guarantee was California Grill. I also ate at Artist Point, Flying Fish, Yachtsman, Narcoosee, and Citrico that trip. We'll be there Dec 12th-20th and are dining at California Grill, Narcoosee, Flying Fish, Artist Point, and Yachtsman again. Again, the only one that required a cc guarantee was California Grill.
