Credit Card Cancelled?

This happened to me, too, with Home Depot. I was buying a dryer and planning to do the six months interest free. They tried to get me to apply for another one, and I told them I would shop at Lowe's instead. I had had the card more than 10 years.

I called customer service and complained. They said it was their policy not to notify you when it was cancelled b/c it hadn't been used lately. Absolutely ridiculous policy IMO.

I have a Sears card that hasn't been used in three or four years. I'm assuming it's still open since I get offers from them once in a while.

I'd check on that. I went to buy a grill on line and they said it had been cancelled. They said they cancel cards after 2 years of inactivity.

OT but did Lowes do the installation? We need some window work done and I'm mulling over who to use.

I did it myself. It is very easy to do if you are handy. It was taking me about an hour per window and that including cutting the vinyl to size and putting the interior trim back on. Lowes will do the instillation for you but it can be relatively expensive (I assume). Look into it and see if you can do it yourself. If your current frames are on good shape (mine were aluminum clad and in perfect shape). I just pulled out the glass windows, plastic spring slides, cleaned the frame, cut the vinyl to the exact size of the opening, caulked, put the vinyl into place, put in the 4 screws and then put the original interior trim back into place. Done. See if you can find a video on utube or even ask lowes how to do it. Once you figure it out the first time the rest are the same and you could save yourself thousands.
