Probs a silly question, but are cards accepted everywhere in the parks? To buy annual passes, food, merchandise etc? Just working out how many euros to order!

I was told when booking cards are widely accepted and they also have a cash point in the park. Instead of taking notes I'll be taking a multi currency travel card so I can top up with euros and also sterling so I don't have to worry about losing my bank card! lol. The card I'm getting can be topped up online and has an up to date balance enquiry online and at the cash machine.

Yes cards are pretty much accepted everywhere, the odd stall might not but all shops and restaurants do. If staying on site you can charge to your room by giving the card number when you check in. That way you get one bill at the end of your stay.

Make sure you tell your card provider before you go so they don't block the card

Hi sorry for butting in but can you tell me which card you are using as i dont really want to use my debit card, and do you know if it can be topped up while you are abroad

Can I just add that we took a 'cashpassport' card, which we were assured would work like a normal bank or credit card, and it wasn't accepted in the self service bit in McDonalds, OR in some of the cash points. Just to warn you.

I was able to use my bank card for nearly every purchase while at DLP last week. Even at the smaller kiosks and souvenir stands. The only place I used cash was the ice cream stands, but even they might have accepted cards as I didn't ask. I found this true in Paris as well.

As my card is issued by an American bank it lacks the rfid microchip ("une puce") that would be in European credit cards, so I had to do a fair bit of swiping and signing. The card worked fine in French cash dispensers/ ATMs as well. The only place where I could not use my card was in the ticketing machines for the RER and Metro stations. I had to either pay with cash or find an open ticket vendor. The good news is, according to Wall St. Journal, all American cards will have the RFID by October 2015.

Hi Sorry Just seen your question so appologies for the slow reply!

There are a few different ones I'm looking at but at the minute I am favouring the card on offer from Thomson Travel Agents. You can top it up online and load it with various different currencies. I will be putting some GBP on it for when we are in London and also some Euro on it for in Disneyland. I believe it comes in the form of a prepaid mastercard so will be widely accepted. This particular card isn't available until July but various other companies do them including the post office. Thomson currently have one out now but you cannot get a balance of your card at a cashpoint whereas the new version coming out in a few weeks will allow you to do so. Hope that helps!

Not asked but answered, WDW and DL, Disney gift cards are not accepted in DLP. They are just a different system.

They take all major credit cards but not discover, which is worthless anyways. JMO.

I would recommend getting a Halifax clarity credit card as it does not charge anything for using it abroad. It also uses the stock exchange rates which is always better then money exchange places. I got one especially for Disney Land when I went in May and just paid if off as soon as I returned

I have the same card, very good exchange rate and no fees.

We have a fairfx card, it's pre loaded and helpful app for top ups or to check balance. I like that it's prepaid. No minimum load after opening and then I don't have a bill to come home to. We just put extras on as and when in preparation. You can google for codes for free cards, £10 otherwise or ask someone with a card for their code and this gets you a free one too
