Creative ideas for a spare tire cover

I'd really like to get a Fort Wilderness tire cover; but, haven't had any luck bidding on one on Ebay. Has anyone designed their own cover? How did you get the design onto the blank tire cover? What type of paint, markers, etc did you use? How has it stood up to the weather?

(Moderator: I tried posting this on the Creative Community board last week and haven't yet had a response. I thought I'd try posting here because there are quite a few "crafty" people here, too, and most will have spare tire covers for their tt's. Please don't move it.)

Try here. Custome Tire Covers. Ive never used them myself, so cannot attest to the quality or customer support, but its a place to start. Its done online, you upload the picture you want, add some detail like lettering and such, and submit it. Not sure of the price either......

Prices look to be anywhere from $150 to $225, a little pricey for my blood

Mine too. I'm looking to draw Musket Mickey and then color him in. I don't want him flaking off half way thru the summer or washing off with the first big rain.

If you would like, I can cut you an outline of a MM and you can trace it (it would be in vinyl) and then color it in how you want. I would need the dimensions. That could help you out a bit...

Thanks for the offer. I think I can handle the design part myself. I thought of using the Musket Mickey I got from you as the pattern; but, I don't know how to color it in. Various widths of Sharpee Markers, some sort of paint? I don't want it to look really bad after the first road trip.

On a similar project would Sharpie markers work on a window blind? I have roll up type blinds and would like to replace them and have DD and DS draw a Disney scene on them. Just don't want it to fade out real quick and look terrible.
The blinds I have now are the cloth type and will most likely be replaced with the same type.
