I need some creative ideas for a Disney countdown calendar. I want to make something with pull off squares - kind of like a stack of sticky notes that the kids can pull off one a day. I wanted to put little notes on the days as the trip gets closer like "Only one more week!" or "Better start packing". I wanted the days closer to the end to have good tips on what you should be doing (ie: make sure to have your paperwork and ADR's confirmations together). I am making this for my sister who has never been to Disney and I would like it to be playful but helpful at the same time. Any ideas on what I can write on the little squares? Thanks so much for your help!:thumbsup2

I made one for my mom before our 2005 trip. I gave it to her in December 04 and our trip was in December 05, so I had a lot of cards! I used cardstock cut into four and tied it all together so that she could flip to a new page every day. I used facts/trivia about the parks and our resort that I found from Lou Mongello's books, the DIS and All Ears.

What about:

Watch planning DVD

Watch Disney movies to build excitement!

Get all the laundry done

Start packing (you did this already)

Do you have the perfect bag yet?

Buy your Moleskin!

Don't forget the sunscreen!

Do you have your waterproof ticket holder?

Is the camera packed?

Cell phone charger?

This is a cute idea! Hope you have fun with it!!

What a cute idea! I may have to do something similar for our next trip!

How about...

Put your resrv's in cell phone so they're always with you.

Learn to say hello in different languages of the World Showcase (there's a link with 'em somewhere on the dis, i know.)

Got sunglasses?

Forward your mail and put a hold on the newspaper.

Get some quick snacks & activities ready for the car ride (airplane)

Just four days until dinner at *such n such's*

extra memory cards for cameras?

Great ideas coming here. Thanks for sharing it. I'll better do some of it.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

This is a great idea! I was trying to think of ideas for a countdown calendar for my boys too. Maybe something my 5yo can help me make. I think I'll add some stuff that will help us get packed - like "pack your bathing suit! We'll be going to Blizzard Beach!" then have them actuall pack that item that day. Also, maybe plan some fun things to do on different days. I may buy the disney trivial pursuit game and have one day direct them to somewhere in the house - when they get there they will find the game and we'll play it that night. This could be fun! Reminds me of just before Christmas when our "Elf on the Shelf" was with us!

Just a heads up, MickeyMom2Boys - Disney Trivial Pursuit is really quite challenging. Of course, it depends on your 5 yo but my kids (DS(10) and DS(6)) get really quite frustrated with it. You may want to try one of the other Disney themed games. We also have Disney Monopoly, Disney Sorry and Scene It. The second edition of Disney Scene It is great for the kids of all ages and I highly recommend it !

Great recommendation...we have both the 1st and 2nd editions of Disney Scene-It, and my girls love them both.

We are 33 days away from our first Disney World trip and I have been putting a disney character sticker somewhere in my sons lunch w/ the # of days we have left until we go.
