Found this recipe on some web site. Tried it and it was soooo yummy thought I would share it.

1 frying chicken(I had a package of breasts that I took the skin off of)
1 Pkg italian salad dressing mix(dry)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 8 oz cream cheese
1/2 c chicken broth
1 large onion
crushed garlic

Sprinkle chicken with italian dressing (I had 6 prety big chicken breasts so I made 2 layers and put the dressing on each layer)
I also cut up some potatoes and put them in with the chicken and put some of the italian dressing over them (I used 2 pkgs)
cover and cook for 6-7 hrs

about 45 minutes before done brown onion in 2 tbsp butter than add cut up cream cheese, soup and chicken broth ad crushed garlic and stir till smooth

pour sauce over chicken before I did this i took all the liquid out of the crockpot even though I took off the skin there was still quite a bit of liquid in there
I also doubled the sauce ingredients. for as much chicken as I had I don't think it would of been enough if I hadn't
this was very good I even had some of the leftovers tonight and it was still good

The name of this recipe caught my eye. It's now in the "to try" pile of recipes.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Mmmmm, sounds delicious. We're on our way to Disney World in 3 days, so will have to wait 'till we get home to try it. Thanks a lot.

Help! THis sounds like a good recipie, but I don't have a crook pot. Do you think I could make this recipie another way? I have a party to go to tonight and thought this would be good to bring. Any suggestions?

I don't have any specific suggestions, but perhaps you could reverse the suggestions for adapting recipes TO the crockpot found at Adapting Recipes

Hope this helps!

Sounds good. What did you serve with it? Would it be good with noodles or rice? Oh, but if you put in the potatoes it might not need anything but a green veggie. I'll try this one.

The recipe just said to do the chicken I put the potatoes in on my own and than had green beans and rolls with it,

crazyme5kids I bet you could just bake the chicken in the oven since you don't put the cream cheese on till the last 30 to 45 minutes than you could just put it on maybe 15 to 20 minutes before the chicken was done in the oven.

I think mashed potatoes would be good with it too since the cheese mixture is almost like a gravy.

did you put anything else in the crockpot with the chicken? Water, or anything, or just the chicken with the italian dressing mix (which I'm assuming is dry?)

I made a dish very similar to this one just about 2 weeks ago. I got the recipe from www.recipezaar.com. Love that site!!!I got it from a poster on this forum. So many thanks to the person that shared it. It's a site I go to almost daily.

Anyway, the recipe I used was:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (frozen!)
1 pkg. Italian dressing mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz cream cheese

Put the chicken breasts in the crockpot, sprinkle the Italian dressing on top of each and set the crockpot on Low for 4 hours. After the 4 hours has passed, take the chicken out, dice it and set it aside. Leave the crockpot on Low, put the cream of chicken soup in the crockpot, add the 8 oz of cream cheese. Stir until smooth. Once smooth add the diced chicken. Fold it in until covered.

I cooked some no yolk noodles and put the chicken and sauce over that. It tasted kinda like chicken alfredo. It was a hearty serving for 3 adults. Easy. Yummy. And no leftovers!
