I read on here about a pair of sandles that some people bought and they had to bake them. I dont remember the name of them. I thought it was something like moleskins or something like that. Please help!!! :worship: I found the on amazon.com but I didnt add them to my wish list like I thought. Also any suggestions as to stores that buy them. I would love to try them on before I buy them.

Okay, I looked up the sandle and it looks great and I may order a pair, but I dont get the baking part.:confused3

Montrail Molokini's are wonderful.:cloud9: I have three pairs of them and usually carry at least one pair with me on every WDW trip (along with my favorite Teva Mush:rolleyes1). When I bought my first pair from Zappos they were comfortable right out of the box, but I decided to bake them like the instructions said to anyway. You heat them for just a few minutes at a very low temp (I believe about 200 degrees maybe, sorry I forgot). Then you wear them around as they cool. They mold perfectly to your feet, so that every part of the sole bed touches your feet and cushions them where they are supposed to. On the pairs with the light colored sole bed, you will be able to see every squiggle on every toe. I loved my first pair so much that I immediately ordered another pair. They are more expensive than the Teva flip flops, but are just sooo comfortable. Anyway, my mom (who lives with me), made fun of me baking my flip flops, but when she saw how much I loved them and that I was going to order another pair, she decided to try them also. She just kept fussing though that she couldn't believe that she was paying over fifty bucks for a pair of flip flops. When they arrived, she tried them on and immediately fell in love with them. I told her to give them to me and I'd bake hers at the same time I did mine. She had a fit and said they were fine the way they were and was afraid of ruining them. I insisted and the whole time they were in the oven she was threatening me that I had better not burn her expensive flip flops:rotfl:. After I got them out and we wore them around the house for awhile, she had to admit they fit even better. She has a tendency to turn one of her feet outward and with the baking, then immediately wearing them, each flip flop is like it's custom made for each foot. I don't turn my foot outward, but do need a really good arch support and the Molokini now feel like they are custom made for my arches. I have since bought two more pairs on Ebay. All four pairs have been heated in the oven and feel like they are custom made for my feet. The only thing I don't like about them is that they have quite a bit of space between the soft cloth toe thingy and the end of the shoe. They do fit true to size though, so don't order a smaller size. They are just made a little long from the tip of the toes to the end of the shoe to provide some protection for your toes.

I have the oyster/brick, fruit punch, and purple/lime ones. I did have the papaya/ice ones, but my D-I-L snitched them. My mom has the oyster brick and the blue/red ones that she just loves. If my 75 y/o mom is willing to pay over $50.00 for a pair of flip flops, then goes back and demands that I order her another pair, you know they must be comfortable.

I just ordered a pair of Teva Mush.
does anyone have a close up pic of their feet (I know, silly question) wearing the Teva Mush. I am curious to see how it fits.

Thanks
Fran

So are the Montrail Molokini and the Teva Mush both equally comfortable? :confused3 Can both be put in oven to form to feet? Anyone with PF tried the Mush and how do you like them? Thanks

I bought a pair of Montrail Molokinis on clearance last month. I was actually quite disappointed. I didn't notice any difference in the fit after baking them. They were okay, but nothing to rave about. Then the first time I wore them (for about 1/2 hr) the strap rubbed a huge blister on the top of my foot. These definitely won't be going to WDW with me. Fortunately I only spent $18.00 on them. :goodvibesI'll stick with my Crocs!

Do the Teva Mush run true to size? I thought I read somewhere that you should size up. Are they super wide? I'm afraid the straps will be too loose if I size up. Do they run short?:confused3

I need to know the same do they run true to size. Any one with a wide foot wear them. I am going to order a pair and see how I like them. I will do some major walking at home and see if they work for me.
I might end up ordering both we will see. thanks

thanks so much that helped sooooo much I think I will order these. I think I saw them at amazon.com I wish I could find them in a store. I am going to the zoo sat and would love to wear them there and see how they do.

the montrail monokini are on sale at amazon.com thought I would let all know

ok ok so I broke down and bought both Montrail Molokini and the Teva Mush. I cant wait, they are coming in today. I cant wait to bake my shoes. My mom, 2 brothers, 2 nephews and neice are coming in tonight so I'll have to wait until I get off work Sat morning- since I work friday night and bake my shoes. Im going to ask my nephew if he wants to help aunt jen bake her new shoes :rotfl2: He will probably say no we cant do that. he is the cutiest thing. We are heading to the zoo on sat so I will be able to tell if they will work for me. I also ordered a new double jogging stroller which is coming in tom. I am sooo excited cant wait to but it together and try it out. :woohoo:
My hubby fussed a little, but I said "hey its not like I dont work. I think I deserve a new pair of shoes every now and then. Not like my friend that has 200 pair." :lmao: she really does Thank you all for the help.

I got the purple montrail molokini.

I think you'll love both pairs. I freely admit I am a flip flop Diva and hey:mad: there is nothing wrong with having 200 pairs of flip flops.:rolleyes1:snooty: I have at least that many and wear almost all of them (at one time or another, or at least I will someday:rolleyes1). My Teva Mush and Montrail Molokini are my favorites though. Read the reviews on Amazon and Zappos. Zappos especially has alot of reviews on them.

Now I understand why the documentation that came with my crocs said NOT to cook them... I just thought they were being weird. : ) Really want to check out both these flip flops now!

They must be leather. When my daughter played softball and we bought her a new catcher's mitt, we would oil it and put a ball in the glove part, tie it together and bake it on a very low oven for hours to soften it up. Works wonderfully! That's probably what happens with the shoes. I never thought of trying that!

P.S. I read the rest of the responses and see why you bake the shoes! makes sense! I see that all these shoes have the thing between your toes. Does anyone have a really comfortable shoe that doesn't have the thing that goes between your toes? Also, I have one foot that has the arch further back than on the other foot so shoes that have hard, firm arches are out but I need some kind of arch support in them due to all the walking at WDW. Really hard to find comfortable shoes that fit with these feet! Any suggestions? I don't mind spending money if the shoes fit well and are confortable. Oh, and I really don't like to enclose all of my foot (too hot and if my foot is hot, I get hot! I really don't need hot flashes on my feet! KWIM?:lmao:)
Now, is there a shoe out there for these really weird feet?:confused3

I live right outside of charleston.

My husband saw how they are made and said I had to order him a pair to. He is like me and likes his flip flops. he doesnt mind wearing tennis shoes unlike me but he likes both.
I am going to bake the shoes in the morning, going to let my 2 year old nephew help. He is so funny. I'll let you know what he thinks about baking shoes lol. :rotfl2:

That's right! I knew I remembered it from somewhere in S.C. Charleston is one of my favorite cities! Love it! Love the food, love the people, love the flowers, love the way it smells! We used to go to Edisto island every summer when our kids were growing up (pre-Disney crazy mental condition!).
Be sure and let us know how the "shoe bake" goes. I am seriously thinking about getting some of these but I am a little worried about the thing between my toes! I can wear those for a little while but it starts to rub a blister after a few hours.

I don't like flip flops that have the plastic thingy between the toes or ones that have thin straps on top. Both the Teva Mush and the Montrail Molokini have a very soft wide ribbon between the toes and nice wide straps that go on top of the foot. Also if I am going to be wearing them for a long time, I always put a little body glide on top of my foot where the straps go and also between my big toe and second toe. I am not going to take any chances where chafing might be a problem. I don't do blisters and have never had one since I started wearing the Montrails or Teva Mush with Body Glide. I may not need the Body Glide, but I am taking no chances and put it on religiously every morning at WDW regardless of what shoes I am wearing.:rotfl:
