Before I even ask, let it be known I am NOT trying to cheat the system in any way, shape or form. ;) We will be staying at WL July 19-26. I have just today booked a one night stay at Pop Century for July 18. Reason for doing so, we have a 9 hour drive and we decided rather than drive all night we would come in the day before and let the kids have some pool time and visit DD. This way they will have had a full nights sleep and be ready for their first full day at Disney. Question...we are planning on buying the refillable mugs at the Lodge like we always do. Being that all the mugs at all the resorts are the same now, could we purchase them at Pop on the 18th and use them all week long at WL. If this is a big no-no I will just let my family remain thirsty until the next morning. :rotfl: Thanks for your feedback!!!

Since both resorts sell the same mug design you can purchase them at Pop Century and use them at the Wilderness Lodge.

Yes, that is correct. Mugs are for your lenght of stay, not per resort. You can buy one set and use them your entire vacation.

When did that change? I'm just curious.
It started in 2007 when the resort counter service locations were selling Year Of A Million Dreams mugs that replaced the resort logo mugs. So this has continuted with new generic mugs for the What Will You Celebrate promotion.

I am almost sure I remember signs last September saying the mugs were still for your stay at the resort where purchased. I will say I could care less whether someone is using a 2 liter Coke bottle, really. I am just curious about the rules.

I believe I saw the same sign in December when they were selling the Year Of A Million Dream mugs, however on those mugs it said they were good at the Resort Beverage Islands, meaning any resort counter service location. Plus since the resorts are selling the same mug design there is no way to tell where you purchased them.

Over the last few trips I have found they are not policing the mug usage. This year, I used my blue mug from 2007 at the hotel and no one said anything. I even saw people using really old Port Orleans & All Star Resorts mugs at the food courts. Heck, one woman was filling a giant Nalgene bottle one day!

When we purchased ours last Saturday, the CM told us that we could use them at any resort anytime. We didn't ask she just said that to us which I am sure she must say to everyone.

Most of the WDW Resorts have a "Refillable Mug" program in their food court area (aka Fast Food-Counter Service). You purchase a mug for around $12.99 (plus tax)and are entitled to "free" refills for the duration of your stay. The refills are available from the beverage dispensers and usually include: coffee, sodas, ice tea, and hot chocolate. No other purchase is required to get your mug or your refills.
At one time the mugs had the hotel logo on them however in the last few years that has changed.

A sign states that the mugs are for use at that hotel for the duration of your visit.

For an avid coffee or soda drinker, especially with the 'free' refills, you can't beat it.

The table below outlines the refillable mugs available at the resorts and the purchase as well as refill price. Be sure to add 6% tax to the purchase price.

We were told that the mugs were for the length of stay, regardless of which resort you purchased them out. (We are DVC members and had to stay one night at the BCV before moving to the BWV.) We did exactly what you are talking about and bought them the first day, the used them for the duration of the trip, and we specifically asked about the rules when we purchased them. Obviously, like you, we would not have purchased them when we did if we could only have used them for the first day.

Wish they posted it better. STayed at the Boardwalk last year and didn't know I could refil at the pool. Oh well I'll try to be more observent this summer.

We just got back from PoP and there is no possible way anyone could tell where your mug was purchased. Buy the mug at Pop and start using it right away! If the expected you to buy a new mug when you changed resorts you would have a lot of extra mugs! That would be crazy!
