I know this has probably been asked, but here it goes!
I would love to use a room discount code for upcoming trip, so if I do can I add the tickets and dining to this room only code OR do you have to purchase a package which is never discounted? PLMK
THANKS :earsboy:

We just returned and I had originally purchased a package. Then I discovered a room discount, cancelled the package and booked room-only with a discount code. You can book the room and add tickets at the same time. Then the tickets will be on your room key and you'll only have to worry about one "ticket/key". I didn't purchase the disney dining because I am an annual passholder. I did purchase the Disney Dining Experience card and that worked beautifully! 20% off all sit-down meals!

Hope this helped.

My understanding is that the dining plan can only be added to packages, not to room-only reservations. The same tickets are available on or off of a package so that isn't a deciding factor.

Or am I wrong and the tickets you get with a package can be different from tickets purchased separately?

For example, I've seen 7 day MYW tickets and 10 day MYW tickets but nothing in between. Can you get 8 or 9 day tickets with an 8 or 9 day package? Can you get 8 or 9 day tickets with an 8 or 9 day room only reserviation?

You can purchase room and tickets separately. They seem to be the same tickets. You can't purchase the dining option separately, that must be part of a room/tickets package. The site I'm looking at lists only 3 night packages with a 4-day base ticket and 6 night packages with a 7-day base ticket and you can add various options such as park hopping to the tickets. No idea if you can purchase a dining package for any other length of time, but it cannot be purchased with a room-only reservation; it can only be part of a package.

MYW base tickets are available separately in 1-7 day increments and there is also a 10 day ticket. The 10 day base ticket costs only $11 more than the 7 day ticket. If you're going to stay 8 days or 9 days, you'll probably buy a 10 day ticket. If you purchase the no-expiration option, the 10 day ticket is about $58 more than the 7 day ticket but you'll get the extra day(s) to use later. This is the base one-park-per-day ticket, not a park hopper. Info from http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/ticketchart.htm

I called and made our ressies today for Pop Century for the first nine days of April. I was able to use an email code for $74 a night, plus I got a 7 day park hopper for each of us and the dining package for 8 days. Our ninth day we had to purchase separately.
