Alright, I've never run into this before. I just booked airfare for a friend who will be traveling with me, and he has one of those "longer" first and middle names with a III at the end, but I just booked the ticket by the name he goes by, which is the shortened version of his middle name. Now when they check his ID at security, will this be a problem? Should I go back and try to rebook using his entire name? I know there has to be someone out there who has run into this before..........can you please help me? :worship: :thanks: :goodvibes

You need to call the airline and see what they are going to charge you to fix this. The name on his DL or gov't issued ID needs to agree with his ticket (Generally you can ignore the III)

Thanks for the replies! I just wanted to let you know that I got it fixed. It was a Southwest Ding fare, so I figured that I would have to pay the lowest regular price to have it corrected, but they did it at no charge! I love Southwest!
