I just reviewed the new brochure of disneylandparis summer 2009

what a shock
:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

2 years ago we spent 3 days/ 2 nights at the disneyland hotel castle club
2 adults , 2 children ( not paying) + train from brussels
total price : 1500 euros
whicvh is a lot:mad:

the same trip now : 2300 euros ( more than 740 euros/ adults)

are they crazy

the price we paid 2-3 years ago for the disneyland hotel is now the price of the cheyenne

1 night at the castle club = more than 700 euros
this is crazy

don't you think?

i think a lot of the prices have gone up, but i dont think there are free night offers or a percentage off at the moment. hopefully there will be

I know they have to make up for the under 12s somehow but these pices are insane!
I want to book five nights at Easter for DD and I onsite somewhere but unless there are some seriously good reductions we won't be able to afford it.
Has anyone booked anything after the first week in April and in School Holidays? I'm just curious to see if anyone from here has bitten the bullet - if not I'll feel better leaving it for a while before booking.

I've booked from Easter Monday - but at the Holiday Inn. On site prices are C-R-A-Z-Y this year. :sad2:

I'm leaving things in the hope they either bring down the prices or offer any discounts similar to the january/march ones for AP holders. The only problem with doing this is you miss good flight deals. But no option unless book flights and then hope for the best:confused3

I have booked Eurostar - did it as soon as the dates became available. As we paid £364.00 for 4 nights for four of us room only Halloween week, I didn't worry too much about it. Santa Fe is coming up at over £1000 for two of us .
I do hope you don't miss the good flight prices FiFi Rose.

I always book my flights first, then accommodation sometimes months later. Just booked my sale-price flights for May this week, and will probably wait until April to book my hotel (after checking the AP room discounts at that time). I am fully prepared to go offsite this time if I can't get a deal within my budget for an onsite hotel.

I was wondering about doing that as flights from Scotland can be expensive if left too late but the AP discounts only seem to be announced every 3 months or so (envie+) What if the rooms were all booked and then i would have useless flights?

My other problem is will power. I had been saving hard then on a whim in the sales bought a bathroom suite:guilty:

I guess it depends when you're thinking of going - I'm going midweek, low season, so I know I'll get a room somewhere, even if its as offsite as Bussy st Georges :) .

You could also try the likes of the Etap hotels site, or Benotel. If you see a price you can live with on either of those sites for offsite accommodation, you don't have to pay anything upfront to reserve a room. Then, if you do get a better rate from Disney with your AP by waiting until the onsite room discounts come out, you can cancel your first reservation without having to pay any cancellation fees (with Benotel, as long as you cancel no later than 48 hours before the date you would have checked in, there is no cancellation fee).

I guess Disney is testing the limits of what people will pay this year!

Last year they offered the same 4-3 deal in July. Only difference is a price increase of about 15%.

I dont get 15% more in sallery compared to last year. Maybe Disney dont know, but we are in the middle of a credit crunch!

... they sure are smart, aint they :headache:

Yes - we also went to the Castle club 2 years ago and the base price is 28% higher in euros. Added to that, the weak pound has added to the higher price - they are using 1.25 exchange rate compared to more like 1.40+ 2 years ago. The end result is a price which is nearly 50% higher.

I think it is not just the prices but the Calender seems to have less yellow days in it or am i became colour blind?:)

The same holiday which we had in September would be 26% more this year for us.

Is this not because the parks and hotels (especially hotels) are much busier than in previous years, hence less 'yellow' time.

I think my English is not good enough so I'm not sure whether i understand you correctly. Do you mean it is because the parks and hotels are more busier?:)

You might be right cap'njack as always:)

So it might be if we continue to visit the parks on the cheaper days that there won't be any yellow days sooner or later?:)

I'm absolutely positive with these crazy prices the number of visitors will decrease fro the peak months, might it be a load balancing methods for less busy months?
