Since I have several trips planned for WDW in the next year and into the middle of next year I had this CRAZY idea of getting an annual park pass!! But I don't know if its really worth it! Does anyone else have a annual pass? if so do you find it worth the price??
Like I said this is just a crazy idea I have, I dont even know if Canadians can even get one!

Thanks
Cari-Ann

Well, an annual pass is around $500 and a Magic Your Way(PH etc) ticket for 5 days is almost $400 (Unofficial Guide-2009). So,if you're going to spend several weeks over a year at WDW the AP makes sense to me. You'll get room discounts and other perks as an AP holder too, so that can be factored into it.:thumbsup2

We have annual passes as we go to WDW for 3 weeks at Christmas/ New Years. We find them to be a good deal. Depending on the time of year you go there are often discounts on disney resorts. There are discounts on dining and some of the stores at Downtown Disney. I believe I read that if you plan to be in the parks for more than 10 days/year the annual pass is the cheapest way to go.

I am planning on taking a day trip in March when I am in Clearwater and my sister and I are going in January 2010 for 14 days!

Do they consider a year from the time you buy the pass or is it Jan -Dec??

If the cost of park tickets for all your trips will be greater than the cost of an annual pass, then I'd say buy one ... plus as others have said, you do get various discounts with the APs

We take 2-3 trips down a year so for us, it's cheaper to buy an AP than to purchase tickets for each of our trips

The tickets are good for a year from the day you activate them not purchase them (i.e., when you first use them at the parks), so if you activate them in March 2009, they'll be good until March 2009

All that is correct! We were in Disney last fall for 3 weeks so it was definitely worth the annual pass....we got our monies worth out of it whether we go back again in a year or not. If we do go again it'll be icing on the cake!

I have to admit it was really nice being able to come and go in and out of the parks so freely. We didn't have to worry about how many days we had left or that we better stay all day to get our monies worth.....it was wonderful!

We saved quite a bit too on discounts with the card at selected stores and restaurants that didn't accept the Tables in Wonderland card. We purchased the TiW card for $60 to save 20% off most TS meals which was great! (they automatically add a 18% gratuity but you'd pay that anyway) Some CS (POP) accepted it which was great because we saved the gratuity! :woohoo:

We rented points on our last trip, but if we go again, we can benefit from the AP discounts at all the resorts.

So to answer the OP's question, if your planning on spending at LEAST 10 days in the parks throughout all 3 trips combined, then the AP is the way to go.

Thanks Everyone, I guess I have to start saving!!!!!! I can't wait until MARCH!!!!!

If you collect Airmiles, you can redeem them for 3 day basic tickets (the smallest ticket you can get starting at 1,790 for a child ticket and 2,120 for an adult ticket) and then upgrade those to an annual pass. The 3 day basic ticket is worth roughly $190(C) and $225(A), so its quite a substantial savings towards an AP. We were only able to redeem for 1-3 day ticket last year, but it was worth the savings. Every bit helps. :flower3:
