Crazy for all character dinners?

Finally- I made ADR for our trip this summer! For the 4 full days that we'll be there, I made a ressie for each day, with a character meal for all.
Will that be overload?
And newbie question... but am I correct in assuming that for quick service meals, I don't need a reservation?

Personally, we love character meals so it wouldn't be overload for us. To answer your second question, there are no reservations for counter service meals. :goodvibes

No, I don't think that's too much. We don't wait in lines to see the characters so character meals are the best way to get autographs (in my opinion). You don't make reservations for counter service. It's basically like fast food. Have fun!

I think it sounds super fun! The only thing I would be worried about is time. Obviously, you will still have plenty of time to get most things in the park done. However, character meals DO take more time. Just to keep in mind. :goodvibes:

Have a great trip!

Oh good! Thank you!
That was my worry that it'd take up so much take, but alas, it'll ensure meeting the characters!

We are a family that loves to book character meals so I don't think your plan is overload whatsoever. Character meals are a great way to meet and greet the characters without standing in line in the parks....you are sitting eating a nice meal (we don't mind the food) and they come up to you :thumbsup2. My girls are 12 (she will be 13 at time of our next trip) and 10 and they both still love the character meals (even the princesses) and those are the only meals they request besides Sci-Fi :goodvibes. Have a great first trip.

We are 3 adults who did 1 character dinner and 2 character breakfasts- definitely not too much!

I'm glad to read this. I have four character meals over a week and I was wondering if I was going overboard. But they seem like such great fun and you have to eat anyway! I'll have a 6 week old with me (as well as a 4 and a 2 year old) and I'm thinking the character meals will be a good time for me to relax and nurse.

We usually end up with one, sometimes two character meals a day. Our kids are little, they love watching the characters and it gives us a chance to eat a fairly peaceful meal. I personally don't think all of the character meals are as good as some of the other options, but its Disney and I think seeing the characters is part of the deal :thumbsup2

Nope , not overload. We love character meals, just keep in mind that they take a little longer than a normal meal. Sometimes it has worked well for us to do lunch or late breakfast with characters when available to save time so your not stopping 3xs a day for meals and we just grab something quick from the room for breakfast on our way to the park. Have fun!

I remember seeing someone posting once who was staying 7 nights and had booked 16 character meals (doubtless on the deluxe dining plan). I think almost everyone would consider this overload (they were doing Chef Mickey's 3 or 4 times in a week I believe) but it's what they wanted.

It does make 4 character meals seem like nothing though.

Honestly, yes, a character meal every day would be too much for our family. We typically do one per trip as well as a non-character "fun" meal ('Ohana, WCC, Boma). But then our kids (12 and almost 10) have never been that into characters and would rather spend time on the rides and in shows. If it doesn't seem like too much for you, I'm sure you'll be fine.

It really depends on your family and how old your kids are. I found at some point that I had booked too many character meals because my kids weren't excited by them anymore so the next trip I did more alternating so we just had a few and they were spaced out. I also don't like to have too many buffet meals because the foods are so similar so we do try and do some of the family style character meals. My kids at 6 and 8 decided Le Cellier was their favorite restaurant because of the steak and chocolate mousse so sometimes doing something totally different is a nice thing too.
