Anyone else notice how amazingly high the scores for Fireworks are today by one player? Is that even possible? Hmmm...could it be clones playing fireworks at the same time? Wow that must be a fast computer and quick hands :confused3 LOL!

Have they changed the game or changed the scoring?

I think the maximum you could get per firework is 1,000 points. Based on that, I think the highest your score could be at the end of each level is:

Level 1 - around 47,000
Level 2 - around 110,000
Level 3 - around 160,000
Level 4 - around 220,000
Level 5 - around 300,000 if you're able to click flawless for 1,000 every time

Those scores seem way too high, unless they've changed it.

I don't see how it is possible.

My daughter and I just counted the number of fireworks that are shot up in this game. Given that we might have missed a couple at the very end, the amount we got was 320, 000 if you were to hit every one perfect for 1000 points. Say we missed about 10 if that, then total possible would only be 330,000 (and I know we did not really miss that many because both of us counted).

So, how is a high score of 347,000 even possible. HMMM?????

sorry for the double thread post, lol, i think somebody hacked or there was a glitch.

I've played Fireworks quite a few times today (Including a few minutes ago). The scoring hasn't changed in the slightest bit. The best guess is that it is some kind of a hacker. Even if it was a glitch, It shouldn't keep doing it to the exact same person. Plus, The person's username is KropQueen. "Crop" means to edit, cut, or distort something. Just a guess, But I'm probably right. :confused3

I still don't get it. I just played a round just to count the number of possible points in round one. I counted 49 fireworks. Let's say I missed one, it would make it an even 50 fireworks for round one. The high score player for round one had a score of 57690. How can that be?

Cannot help out here since I am having trouble understanding how this is occurring, maybe vmk staff/developers will have better explanation instead of myself providing some other speculation. Last night, I attempted hitting many different keys, clicking twice on each firework, etc and could not figure out way to increase score.

I thought maybe it was a glitch but, I was playing when she got a couple of those high scores and I came in second. She got over 200,000 by end of round 3! Anyways, after the game I asked how she was getting such high scores and she said...practice! It looks like someone else figured out how to do it again today.

As far as I'm concerned, WDWTiggerRT, you are the all time best fireworks player!! :worship:

I have to think that even with practice you would have seen her previous scores in the top ten for the day or all time at some point.

With the scores she's getting now, her mediocre scores should have been 270,000 - 280,000, which would have put her on the lists.

Granted, maybe she practiced with other characters, but now all of a sudden, she's got the top four all time by a mile?

If it's true, more power to her. But it smells really fishy to me.

If it looks like a fish, swims like a fish and smells like a fish then it is probably a fish....:fish:

I think it is a :fish:

Thats funny Mal, you always place a funny spin on things (i.e The fish swimming instead of spelling out fish)

:)

I just hopped in VMK and saw the outrageous scores on fireworks. I tried my best, but was nowhere close. I don't even show up on the high scores board. I saw that WDWTiggerRT and navimap, 2 incredibly good players, tried too, but to no avail. Some of us have been playing this game for months and haven't been able to crack the 300000 plateau yet. For somebody to all of the sudden come along and beat the all-time high score by 60000 points flashes a giant red light in front of me. Somebody would have to have EXTREMLY fast hands, and an extremly high precision mouse to achieve the current "high score". If somebody did find an exploit somewhere, that can lead to nastier things that I'd hate to see happen. If this is true, it was just a matter of time before something like this would happen.

These individuals are utilizing filters to manipulate the fireworks game, basically what would happen is your computer and vmk server communicate with each other. Your computer manipulates the information being passed back to the vmk server. For example, There are five stages and three levels per stage (Bacially 15 Different Played Screens). A filter could be utilized to play stage 5 scene 3 instead of playing each normal stage....So you would play 15 times Stage 5/Scene 3, which contains more fireworks than other stages/scenes. This filter would allow you to basically manipulate the game in your own favor. Since I have worked within technical field for many years, I have personally used network sniffers for troubleshooting or identifying problems but have never used them to hack systems/manipulate games. I can personally say I am very disappointed in these select few individuals that are manipulating the game within their favor. Hopefully vmk staff and vmk developers will remedy this problem fairly quickly...

You select few performing these actions really disappoint me...Is that how desperate you really are to win at something? Its really too bad you could not be as good as some of the real vmk fireworks players...

P.S. There is a cheating web site I was looking at early this morning, which I am not happy about and I am hoping vmk does something to prevent these people from playing...

When a group of us were playing last night, we were in a group with one of the people who got on the high score list with a huge point total. When someone asked how they did it, he said, "Practice" and then he said, "Read the directions very carefully."

It is too bad that people have to cheat the way WDWTigger72 described.

Yes, I found the site for the cheats as well and here is a comment one of the players made about it:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

u should see my little sis.. i made her account, and she took the top four spots
for fireworks games lol pretty funny well anyway...

I guess they think it is funny............

Yes, Iris that is exactly the web site I am talking about as I read that same comment also. There are many senior vmk members who are now aware of this site, and hopefully the vmk developers/vmk staff remedy this problem quickly. These people use a filter that allows them to play for example stage 5/scene 3 over and over throughout game. The advantage here is that this last stage/scene has the most fireworks, allowing them roughly about 600 fireworks throughout game instead of normal 315 fireworks. The thing I find really sad about this is playing a real game they would not even break 150,000 points. Sorry to any vmk members who cannot break that score, but I have to give you all the credit in the world...At least you do it legitimately.

I just noticed today that if you check out the fireworks high scores list on the main vmk site, those so called great players' names have been removed from the lists. I know they were there yesterday, so maybe VMK staff took some action.

:EDIT: Nevermind, I think I was seeing a cached page. No changes

I ran into KingPiratePeg in the fireworks lobby tonight.

He was bragging about his high scores and such, so I called him on it.

First I said, "Wow, how do you it."

He said "Practice and timing."

I said "That's interesting, because I know that those scores are impossible. There are only free I hive fireworks, and at a house and points each, you can't get the scores you did."

He said "I don't get you."

I said "You...are...cheating."

He made a rude comment and disappeared.
