We just returned from a fantastic trip to WDW for Christmas! (12/20-12/25). Before we left I was expecting insane crowds and very cold weather, but we were pleasantly surprised. We live in the mountains of Tennessee and we had a foot of snow on the ground when we left home so we were hoping for temps in the 50s and sunshine. We got much better than that!

I will add pictures as soon as I get them off the camera.
Cast of Characters:Me and DH= Honeymooned at Dixie Landings in 1993 & 5 other trips since then
DS(13) and DD(11)= 5th trip to WDW.

Resort: Caribbean Beach
This resort was very pretty and peaceful. When we checked in I didn't see a lot of cars in the parking lot. I thought that it was either empty or a lot of people used Magical Express. I think the resort was pretty empty. I never saw anyone in the rooms near ours, nor did I hear noise anywhere in our building. I had requested buildings 45, 51, or 46. We were in Aruba room 5152. We had a standard room, but got a water view. We were very near the bridge to Old Port Royale and it was just a short walk over there to the pool, food, and shop. Our building was between the Jamaica and Aruba bus stops. The buses were never full and I don't think we ever waited more than 15 min. for a bus and it was usually less than that. The room itself was fine except that it seemed to be damp as if the Florida humidity found its way into our room. There was plenty of room for the four of us. I'm realizing as the kids get older that we need a lot of room. The sink area was very large with double sinks and room to hang clothes and put suitcases. I like the curtain to divide the room when we need it. The bathroom area is VERY tiny, though. The flat screen TV was nice and there was a place to hook up a DVD player or other equipment. Since we drove I brought a lot of food and drinks with us. We ate breakfast in the room each morning; cereal, poptarts, or oatmeal (I heated water in the coffee pot). On our last morning we used three snack credits for cinnamon rolls and we had those. We did have some nice weather so the kids were able to use the pools. On Tues. 12/21 DD swam in the village quiet pool. On Wed. 12/22 both kids went to the main pirate pool. They said the slide was a lot of fun. Wed. was our nicest weather day. I even put on shorts to sit by the pool. All in all Caribbean beach is a good resort, but we won't stay there again. We enjoyed the beauty and quietness of it, but did not like the damp room or being so spread out. We've decided our next trip will be Deluxe.

Up next:Epcot, MK, and 'Ohana on 12/20
