So, I have been reading trip reports all day and have decided to give it a shot myself.
A little background on me and my fiance Chris. We have been together for almost 3 years now and were engaged on June 9, 2008 at DLR.

A little picture that we had taken, shortly after.
It was truly the most magical day EVER. Grandma Pat, a DLP cast member, was SOO wonderful I'm so happy that Chris was able to find her and have her plan his proposal. She has us meet her at Storybook Land and loaded us up on our own ride boat, we began the ride as normal but once we reached the mini Cinderella's Castle she stopped the boat. She said that Chris had something he needed to ask, and thats when he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes and Grandma Pat started the boat again, while accouncing to everyone waiting in line "He proposed, she said yes" over and over again. Once we were off the boat she presented us with our Mickey and Minnie Mouse wedding ears and our "Just Married" buttons (of course she crossed out married and put engaged).

Even after all that she continued to walk us around Fantasy Land ringing her bell and yelling "He proposed, she said yes" "Chris and Kelly are engaged". We even got to cut in line on all the Fantasy Land rides. After we rode all the rides, inlcuding Matterhorn for my brother, she gave us about 15 or so general Fast Passes for use the next day.

Sorry for this being so long, this is my first TR!
And all that brings me to the reason we are going to DL this May, not only is it my b-day(May9) and our 1 Year Anniversary (well one month early, but close enough), but we are doing our food taste testing for our Disneys Fairy Tale Wedding! Yep, after such a magical proposal a regular wedding just won't do, it has to be a Disney Wedding!

More to come later.....this one is long enough.

Trip reports are so addicting! As soon as I finish ours from the end of March I'll be starting my birthday PTR - and I swear is going to take me a year or longer, by which time I'll be so far behind on my actual TR! And I love to babble, so never feel like they're too long!

I absolutely love to read about your Disney proposal and can't wait for what's to come next!!

They are SO addicting. Especially yours! I love you photos they are awesome.

I'm so glad I found this place. Its nice to know I'm not the only one that crazily obessed with Disney!

Trip reports can never really be too long, especially for us babblers. I've started to plan my next trip report for my trip at the end of May and I basically typed 3 pages on Microsoft Word of nothing, just babbling.

Anyways, congratulations! And I can't wait to read more!

What a lovely proposal story :lovestruc congratulations

Look forward to reading more :)

Exactly 1 month before we leave!!!!:woohoo:
I know it is still a whole 30 days away but we have so much to do still.
I have sometime before class so I'm gonna try and write some stuff about our trip.
We decided to stay in the Jolly Roger Hotel because 1. its cheap. 2.its a 1955 original. I know it's supossed to be like a Motel 6, but I've stayed at the Anaheim Maingate Motel 6 and it's pretty nice, for what you pay. I'm a little scared cause there are some bad reviews on the JR, but what the heck right? We only live once.
I've already made my PS for Blue Bayou for my birthday lunch! We decided to do lunch this time instead of dinner because of that darn Monte Cristo sanwich everyone loves, my fiance is a sandwich king so I want him to try it. Other that the Bayou we haven't decided where to eat. Well we do have eating plans on the 13th, we are doing the food testing for our wedding! I can't wait I jsut know that its going to be the most delicous food ever. Food worth taking pictures of!!! lol.

I honestly can't wait for this trip! Its killing me.princess:

I thought I would add a few pics from our visit last summer. Unfornutaly while we were there in November we took zero pictures. I hope to take tons on this trip, that is if I can get myself a new camera.

Here's one that was taken right after we got off Storybook Land.

One of those wonderful poses the PhotoPass people come up with.
(we both look horribley brunt and hot)

And one of the whole family. My family that is plus the new fiance.

Love the pictures! Definitely make sure you get as many as you can when you go this time. I love the PhotoPass stuff, and I wanted to stop anytime I saw a photographer, even though that meant I had to do a few all on my lonesome.

:banana::cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2:
My teen dance.....soon to be the single digit dance.

Time to start figuring all the details like:
packing lists ("over-packer" is an understatement when it comes to me and packing)
what foods to have in the car
where to stop for lunch
what I want to buy with my birthday fun card
call hotel and verify ressie

so much to do and hopefully the time will go by so fast yayayayayayayaya!!!

17 more days!!!

WOW 17 days to go that deserves a dance :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

You must be jumping around with excitment, i have just over 4 months and am already sp excited :)

First off......CONGRATS!!!!! :cool1: What a great way to get engaged.......I can't think of a better place!! It looks like you had a fabulous time during that trip...... as you should!!!

A Disney Wedding.....wow I can't wait to see the plans & pics from that!!!

Now to the birthday trip.....you're so close....... I hope you both have a wonderful time & take lots of pictures!!!!! Those of us addicted to these trip reports, love love love the pics!

Will be watching for more as your trip & wedding near!!

Today is offically 2 weeks.

I've done a few things that make me feel that we are getting close:
Called Jolly Roger. Ressies Confirmed.
ANA_JOLL-exter-1.jpg

I've also checked Trip Advisor and Hotels.com to see if there has been anymore reviews added....there has. And they are all positive!:cool1:
Makes me feel a little better about staying here. Its a 1955 original motel, but has been remodeled recently so hopefully our experiance will be as great as the other peoples.:thumbsup2

Rented a car! Now we weren't originally going to do this. We has planned on taking my moms 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, but today she decided to back out.:sad2: And neither me nor Chris have great traveling cars:drive: (I have a big v8 GMC Sierra gas-guzzler and he has a Dodge Neon SRT4 thats really meant for racing and has no cruise control and no comfy seats.)
Anyways......we got a Chevy Aveo(or similar)lol.
8447.gif

Booked it through Thrifty for only $160!:thumbsup2 I kinda scared to even look at prices after reading a few of the threads on here about how expensive rentals are in other states.

I just can't believe we are actually going to Disneyland, and in 2 weeks!:dancer:

Ok, so nevermind on the Aveo. After looking at pics and reviews DF decided that it would be too small for him on our 8 hour drive of pure desert landscaping. So, did some more research and found the Pontiac G6
T_ICAR_US.jpg

Its only $196 and gets the same gas milage, maybe even better. 30 MPG highway according to fueleconomy.com.

I stayed at the Jolly Roger in the 80's & it was getting pretty run down......but did notice on our last trip that it looked good now!!! Hopefully you have a great stay there.

Kinda a bummer you have to rent a car.....but at least that was an option you could do!!

2 weeks

With only 13 days left till we leave I figured that I might as well start getting all our DisneyLand stuff together. So I dug out the lanyards and pins!!!!
I love pins. I took some pics of my pins and stuff and DFs collection as well.
Sorry the pics kinda suck....cell phones don't have great cameras.
100_2129.jpg

100_2128.jpg

100_2127.jpg

Mine is red and DF is black. I think we have a pretty good collection. Oh and here are some that I ordered off ebay/our one sent to us by our Disney wedding planner.
100_2126.jpg

I just feel in love with the "I'm with Grumpy" and "I'm with Dopey" ones. Last time we were at DL I bought a shirt that has Dopey on it and says "I'm with Grumpy". I had to buy it because DF is the defintion of Grumpy. lol. We really wanted to find him a shirt that says "I'm with Dopey", but we can't:confused3. So the pins will have to do.
I can't wait to get these ones of the lanyards and wear them around the park.

It is offically time for the SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:cool1::banana::rotfl::dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2::rockband::dancer:party::jumping1::tiptoe::rainbow:

And I couldn't use this exciting moment at a better time.

You're getting so close now!!!!! Very exciting!

So I just noticed that your wedding is a year from now......for some reason I thought it was THIS summer.......lol We should get all sorts of inside information on Disney weddings thru your report!! Can't wait!

Only 5 more days! 5 5 5 5 5 days!!!

So I think we have just about everything we need for the trip: food for car, drinks, clothes, toliettres(?). I just can't wait till it gets close enough to start packing! I love turning on some great dancy, upbeat music (which also includes Disney songs) and dancing around like an idiot while packing my bright blue and purple duffel bag! Which will hopefully fit everything, my packing list is over a page long! And thats just stuff for me!

SO enough on that.......and some more about our wedding planning!
We have an appt. with our wedding planner, Tracey, on May 13 to do some food tasting!!:woohoo: I love food!
After going through pages and pages and pages of dinner options we picked "The Royal Feast Buffet". They have lists of salads, entrees and side dishes and we get to pick 3 from each list for our buffet. Here is our choices:
Salads (I'm not a salad person, so these are DFs choices)
Baby Romaine with Belgian Endives, Candied Pignolis & Sweet Wine Dressing
Insalata Caprese with Garden Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella & Basil Chiffonade
Entrees
Petite Filet Mignon with Cracked Pepper Cabernet Sauce
Grilled Breast of Chicken with Garlic-Parsley Foam
Seared Flank Steak with Cippolini Onions & Mustard Demi Glace
Side Dishes
Cast Iron Roasted Vegetables
Fork Mashed Potatoes with Pancetta Drippings
Cheese Tortellini with Charred Tomato Sauce
also served with "Happily Ever After" dessert
The Royal Pastry Chef's Selection of the Finest Confectionary Tastes Featuring: Chocolate, Fruits, Cremes & Cookies

And our cakes choices! (I don't like cake....never have....so these are also DFs choices)Vanilla cake with white chocolate mousse filling
Carrot caked with cream cheese filling
Vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling

Depending on how this stuff tastes we might change a few things, like instead of flank steak we might switch to the Pan-Fried Halibut with a Saffron-Leek Broth. That way we have a red meat, a chicken and a fish. I'm so exicited to eat all of it!!!! Even though I don't have any idea what some of it is. :confused3 Too many fancy words!

Oh and just to let everyone know our wedding is going to be at the Grand Californian, instead of the Rose Garden at DLH. There was lots of pluses to the Rose Garden, like being brought in on a horse drawn carriage that looks like Cinderellas coach. But the GC location is a lot more private, it is on a 5th floor balcony that over looks CA. And then the reception is held down in a special room and outside in that little area thats right off of DTD.
Its just so exciting, I can't wait.

Hi! How exciting to plan a disneyland wedding! I'm getting married (at home) on May 30th. And then Disneyland will be one of three places we're going on our honeymoon.

Most of that food sounds so good... but I just don't see why they would call the 'sauce' on the chicken 'foam'! Eww! Foam just sounds icky.

And you don't like CAKE?! You're lucky I've decided to read your PTR at all!! Sorry, I'm a cake-a-holic.
