Crazy Busy Today (5/8) at FW

Wow, it is absolutely crazy here today. I came over about 12:30pm to check in and there were cars everywhere. Because we had a handicap cabin, we had to wait for it to be ready. We went to DTD and I was starting to get worried, so I called and found out my room had just gotten ready just after 4 pm. About six we decided to go looping, and found it was crazy. People everywhere, it was busier at FW than it was at DTD. Seems there is a triathalon tomorrow morning here at the Fort.

Any way about it, I am HERE now. I was going to try and do a "live" trip report, but I don't think that will happen. I am using a Virgin Mobile broadband (prepaid) to connect to the internet so uploading pictures will have to wait until I get home as it is too slow for my large photos and I do not want to spend too much time playing with the photos. I may give a few updates as I go.

Had that experience one year when the "Marathon" was going on and that really screws up the traffic.

It will calm down eventually. Enjoy your stay.

I hear it will be a madhouse at the Fort for part of the day & then settle down. Samething next Sunday. We're looking forward to our upcoming trip! Thanks to these boards, we know ahead of time what to expect and how to handle it. Thanks to all the great people here!

Yesterday afternoon and evening were extremely different. Everyone seems to have cleared out while we were at AK.

Magicbus: I will look for the ears, but I probably will not be on many buses. My sister has anxiety about the buses. She seems to think that if we do not take the minivan we brought down that we would not be able to get around.

I am off to search for hot chocalate.

Yep, TCD has warned us about "Marathon Weekend" and now you've experienced it firsthand.

How did the virgin wireless work for you? I need to get something for our trip next week 'cuz school starts back up while we are there and I have to have internet.

It has been working quite well. It is similar to some dial ups where it will be slow at times, but for the most part, it has worked well. When I tried to upload some pictures earlier in the week, the system was slow so I decided to just wait until I get home. Right now, I have a faster connection, but I just do not have it in me to start trying to upload now. I was able to connect and search the internet while in the car on the way down.
