Hi there- traveling down to the world in early April and am wondering if that big construction crane is still visible behind Cinderella Castle?? It was up there in August last I went and I remember seeing recent park pictures with it in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's supposed to be gone by the end of the month.

The HUB is also undergoing extensive renovations. Be prepared for a lot of construction walls and a completely drained moat.

Hopefully you can see past all the work and still capture some magic.

And the painting of castle has some lifts, not sure how long that will take.

As others have said, the crane is supposed to be gone by the end of March and looking at the progress they've made so far (and considering the turret painting was one of the last things on their "agenda"), I'd say that will certainly be the case.

Right now, I'm more curious as to when that stupid Confectionary scrim will come down. I hate when they put up those obstructive eyesores on Main Street. Anyone have info on that?

Have you seen the scrims that went up last week along the sides of the bridge from Main Street to the Hub? They're designed to look like greenery on the bottom and the sky in top. I laughed out loud when I saw the "nature scrims." Although, maybe the moat wouldn't look so bad if they could figure out some scrims for it. ;)

Thanks so much for all your information! Here's hoping it will be down....

What would you suggest happens if not the scrims?

I was there a few weeks ago and noticed the scrims and pointed them out to my husband. We are not Magic Kingdom fans but went for the day. I didn't feel the deflected from the experience but it was better than seeing raw construction.

Don't know how anything can be perfect. We have people saying things need to be fixed but when they are and the "damage" is put behind something that can still connect, others have an issue with it.

Tell Disney the solution for you.

When we went to Disney a few years ago, they always moved the crane out of the view of the castle for certain hours for pictures. They were posted right when you entered the park.. Not sure if the same is true in this situation.

I arrive on the 29th. I know it is supposed to be down at the end of March...but based on pictures posted today there are still a lot of turrets to paint!

At this point I am actually thinking it will be fun to make my 2nd trip this year before the thing comes down, and then turn those into memes like the ones pumpkin meme posted on the other thread (hysterical, btw). That is going to turn into the Disney fanatic version of planking or lebroning.

The big crane isn't doing much of the painting work. There are several bright orange cherry-picker/lifts that they're using for painting. One day last week, there were four of them out, in addition to the big crane. So, there may still be work going on even after the crane comes down.

Oh perfect. Crane minions.

:lmao: It's a necessary evil. Nobody likes that crane, including CM. However, with the use and abuse they give to the castle (Fireworks, sun, rain etc,) the castle deteriorates and it's in need of some love. After all we don't want the castle to take the Haunted Mansions job. :sad2::scared:
