Cranbrook, BC???

Can anyone tell me about Cranbrook? I'm looking to go to The College of the Rockies there. I'm American, is there anything I should plan for, especially money wise. I'm really excited about this. I hope to one day immigrate to Canada.

You must ski.

While I have never been to Cranbook, I'd love to visit there some day soon. There's some great skiing nearby in Kimberly and Fernie.

I know 2 people from that area, and they would move back to that area in a heartbeat. Just a little further north of Kimberly is Panorama and that is where we like to go skiing.

It is supposed to be beautiful in that area.

The cost of living is a bit higher in B.C. than some other provinces but Interior B.C. should be fine. It's not like living in a major centre near Vancouver or Victoria.

Hopefully someone living in B.C. will be able to help you out a bit more.

Hi!
I grew up there and my parents still live there. DH and I have a cabin out there as well. Its great for outdoor stuff but not much else! If your in to that then you will love it. Its a small town, that is for sure! I love going back in the summer, so sunny all the time. The college is small but they do have some good programs. But if you like the outdoors and like to party then Cranbrook is the place to be! I had so much fun growing up there!!! Lots of great nice people, very friendly! The housing market is ok right now, going up quickly. But you can rent dirt cheap. Just not a lot of choices. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have a question about driving. Will I need a special permit or licence to drive? Still being a citzen of the states, I'm guessing I don't need new plates?I plan on being there for about 4 months at a time.
