I was lucky I never had wisdom teeth. Just braces. Which was horrible to a small degree. I ate soup for a week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Rachel and I just got back from Kohl's. We bought 10 tops and spent less than $100. :cool1: It was nice having her there with me, giving me fashion advice. :)

I spent a nice, quiet, lazy weekend. I cleaned my house, did homework, and slept. I still don't feel 100 % but hopefully with a few more nights of good sleep I will. My Aunt wrote me an email today about hurricane Ike. I don't want to go through this again. :confused3

Marcie, those pesky hurricanes are just lining up. Hopefully they will stay away!

Cristi, nice deals at Kohl's.

I have never really had any teeth problems. Still have my wisdoms even. I did have an infection, by no fault of me, but had to instantly have a tooth pulled, a bridge came later. I was so upset over that!

Ted and I have been washing and waxing our trailer. Man, it is a humongous job. We are beginning to see the end. Hopefully we can get away next week and do something fun.

What is up with all these hurricanes? I hope Ike leaves you alone Marcie.

Cristi -glad your fashion advisor went with you, makes shopping a lot more fun. I need to go to Kohls and start looking for some Fall tops.

I have been thinking a lot about you with this one coming. I wish I could wave a wand and make it better. I know you do not want to go thru all of that again. Sending you lots of pixie dust pixiedust: pixiedust: and a hug

Why is my life so full od drama???

Today I get an email from my boss. To make it understandable. My boss is the lead secretary and her name is Diana. She also is in charge of all the payroll at my school.

Well my email informed me that I was going to have to pay for my sub in November for my cruise. She even ended the email that I needed to keep this in mind in the future when I ask for time off for vacation.

I send her an email back asking if this was a system wide change or a change in our school. I also asked if I was going to be responsible for the $50 a day amount that teachers have to pay.

I get a reply later...after I had left work... that says, that things have changed in the last 2 years due to the cost of subs for classifed employees. She said however, after futher investigation that there is a new rule and unless you are 12 months you are NOT allowed to take annual leave time off during the school year. She said with the approval of the principal (which I have) that I can be off but will have to take leave without pay and I will be responsible for paying for my sub. She goes on to say that I had to pay over $100 for my sub.

Now tell me if they are not paying me how am I to pay a sub to work for me.

I also asked the guy who is going to work for me about how much they pay him for working for me. He said he gets paid $83 to work for a teacher and to work for me it is a little less. He is going to tell me how much tomorrow.

I have spoke to the main payroll person in our central office. She is checking on this new rule about classifed employees not being allowed time off during the school year. She is going to let me know something tomorrow.

So now 7 weeks before my cruise I am being told I am going to lose abnout $1200 of pay for 4 days off work and to pay for a sub.

Would you be upset.

Oh better yet, my employee handbook on page 17 states I am allowed to take AL time during the school year.

Selena - that is horrible. Sounds to me like someone had something shoved up her butt. Let us know what happens.

I finally got the time to download my pictures off all the cameras tonight so I thought I would start my trip report. Today will be all about Disneyland!!!

August 14, 2008

Today was finally here. Our plane took off at 7:50am and we made it to LA at 9:30am (loved the extra hour we gained!!). I prebooked with Super Shuttle and they were ready and picked us up and head to HoJo's off Harbor Blvd. We arrived at HoJo's at around 10:30 and in true Heidi fashion made myself known by knocking down a ceramic planter that had a tree planted in it. I was rolling my two over-stuffed 100lb suitcases when I accidentally ran into the planter. The nice guy at the front desk made sure to make me feel at home and let me know that happens at least 3 times a day. There was a room ready but the nice guy said that a better location would open up later on so he held our luggage so we could check in later.

We were starving, we ate breakfast at 6:00am Denver time and now it is 11:00 Cali time (noon Denver time). We decided to stop by McDonalds to grab something cheap and quick only to find out they were still serving Breakfast. No thanks, one breakfast is enough so we decided to grab something at Disneyland.

We have started our little tradition in that we always ride Space Mountain for our very first and last ride. This is Chris's favorite ride and way better than the one at WDW. We rode this two times in a row.
Lumix-Honeymoon016.jpg

Next we are off to my favorite ride which is Indianna Jones. I love this ride, but it takes a lot longer to get through the line so I get bored easily. Thankfully there are some pretty cool things to look at while in line.

Everyone loved my toes and fingernails!!!!!

We spent all day at Disneyland. We tried to stay awake for Fantasmic but we were too tired.

Here is some more pictures taken at Disneyland:

August 15, 2008

Today we spent the day in California Adventure. I knew that official park opening was at 10:00 but I read on the disboards that it has a soft opening at 9:30 and the only ride open is Soarin and of course this is exactly how it played out. We rode Soarin (my favorite) and Chris makes me laugh at one part because he actually holds on to the handles because it seems so real.

I also read that there is a Toy Story Mania line you have to wait in to get you to the ride. I wanted to ride this really bad because I heard excellent reviews on it so we waited and then ran to the ride (which is clear across the park). Everyone was running, it was a madhouse. They say the lines can get up to 2 hours long and I wasn't going to wait that, so we only had to wait about 30 minutes. I LOVED this ride, way better than Buzz Light year. This actually turned out to be my favorite ride in California Adventure. It is like Buzz Lightyear where you shoot at things, but you have to wear 3-D glasses. Definitely worth the wait, we did end up riding it two other times throughout the day.

Next was Chris's favorite ride and that is California Screamin. High Speed rollercoaster, kind of like Rock n Rollercoaster but outside. It goes through the Mickey Ears.

Lumix-Honeymoon058.jpg

I have more pictures of this park but didn't want to bombard anyone with tons of my pictures!!!!

We then of course rode Tower of Terror a few time, more California Screamin, and more Toy Story Mania and then ended the day with Soarin.

August 16, 2008

These hot days were wearing on us but I was determined to finish our last day with Disneyland. Today was Magical Mornings where we got to go in one hour early. We of course headed to Space Mountain first and rode it 6 times in a row and then rode Buzz Lightyear. This took up our hour we had and headed towards Indianna Jones only to find out it was broken down and wouldn't be up for the morning. So we rode Pirates (way better than WDW) and Haunted Mansion (again much better than WDW) and the normal Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Went back to check on Indianna and it was open so we waited in line. We were almost there when the ride broke again and they kicked us out of line. We waited in line for about 45 minutes and they wouldn't give us any fastpasses to the ride....bummer, what a waste. So Chris grabbed us some fries and we decided to go to the House of Blues that is in Downtown Disney.
Lumix-Honeymoon108.jpg

After House of Blues we decided to go back to the hotel and take a nap because I wanted to watch Fantasmic tonight. Here is me being silly (okay I will confess I was actually drunk):
Lumix-Honeymoon110.jpg

Came back to Disneyland after our nice nap and saw this:
Lumix-Honeymoon123.jpg

After the parade, we headed for Indianna Jones and it was finally opened and we were able to ride. After my favorite ride we grabbed some dinner (I had clam chowder in a bread bowl that was awesome) and Chris picked a spot for us to wait for Fantasmic. At Disneyland people wait hourS and bring blankets to save spots. Chris picked a great spot that we perfectly centered. Chris recorded it on our Video Camera so I will try and post that when he gets it downloaded.

After Fantasmic we tried to ride Indianna Jones one more time but it was once again broken so we headed towards Space Mountain for our final ride. We took our time leaving Main Street and I made sure to get my popcorn bucket(s) to bring on the ship, 15 days is a long time to go without popcorn for me!!!!! It was sad to leave but we were excited for the cruise!!!

Okay, good night...more tomorrow night when I can upload more pictures to photobucket! Next will be Embarkation.

Selena, something doesn't seem right to me about that. Can they change it without letting you know in writing what to expect? Just fishy to me.

Heidi, I love your trip report with pictures. Fun to read and see pics.

Great trip report so far Heidi. I love all the pictures!

Well, last night I finally did it!!! I got my princess tattoo. I was on the phone with Aerial's bff's Mom and we were talking about tattoos and she says do you want to go tonight. I say sure, she says okay i will come get you and hung up the phone. 20 minutes later we were off. :lmao: Dropped Aerial off at her house and went to the tatt shop. I had to wait awhile though, so I'm kind of tired today, I didn't get home until close to midnight. Tell me what you think. I love the way he did the tiara. Of course it's all red around it, this pic was on my phone right after it was done. BTW it burns :lmao: But, it didn't hurt half as bad as I thought it would.

Marcie - I LOVE your new tattoo, the coloring is great. How exciting!! Did you get it on your lower back?
