Lurking in Heidi's bushes, as usual. She just stuck her head out to let me know you'd been asking after me. She's definitely lost weight, by the way.
I lost weight because I thought I was meeting you at the pool, I had to look good in my string bikini for adult night.

(there's no blood going to my head)

I am glad you are OK Jrsy was beginning to worry about you but as I can see you are fine. :lmao:

Heidi you are a riot.

It is always nice to be told we have lost weight or appear to have lost some weight but it is always better when we really have lost weight!

Morning everyone. Hope everyone is having a great day.

I was afraid that Jrsy was getting a tired of holding purses. Guess he'd rather lurk in Heidi's bushes. LOL

Cristi, I was just thinking about the liquor store conversation we had. I think we were talking about the same one. Isn't Arrow known as Arrow Liquormart? I much prefer it over Tipsy's. It seemed kind of high plus you don't have to drive out of the way.

I think you are right Sandy, it might be called Arrow Liquormart. The liquor store around the corner from my house is called Liquormart though so that is why I was confused.

I like Liquormart (on the corner of Coal Mine and Pierce) because the guys are so nice in there (and it is so close to the house), but their prices are higher.

I use to go there before Arrow days. Way too tiny for me.

They are nice there, but it is too small. I don't go there that often.

I don't lurk there when she is not around but I won't tell you where I am lurking then. ;)

I had to hit three different liquor stores last weekend in pursuit of some cold Dale's Pale Ale; the first two stores were both sold out! I ended up at the big store on Hampden and Knox Court (west of Federal). That place is a lot nicer since the change of owners. Found a refreshing little beer called Summer Shandy along with my Dale's and Fat Tire in cans.

I think it is interesting to see how liquor stores are ran in different states. Here in NC it is ran by the State and they are called ABC stores. Each store has the same price for each alcohol item. The price already includes tax. Just recently the state has allowed discounts or sales on alcohol. When an item is on sale the item does not include tax and you pay tax on the item. Also we only carry liquor and mixers in our ABC stores. Wine and beer is not sold in the ABC stores. Wine is only sold in grocery stores and places like Target and Walmart. Then on those that carry grocery store items. You can purchase beer at the same stores you can purchase wine but also convenient stores carry beer.

In Maryland I noticed at the gas station they sold wine. I was so in shock. I was thinking how nice that is because then I could gas up and get tanked later on a nice vino.:)

Wow, you are so different than us. There is a big difference between each state it seems. No wine and just 3.2 beer in our grocery stores. Gas stations only have 3.2 beer as well.

Selena - I know it is so funny how alcohol is handled in different states. I was shocked the first time I saw a liquor department in Walmart in Florida!

In Texas you can buy beer & wine anywhere. Liquor only in Liquor stores. In Louisiana you can buy Liquor at the convience stores. It's funny to walk in there and see that.

I've had a really crazy week and have been just wanting some down time ugghh. One of my closest friends grandmother passed away and I have been trying to spend some extra time with him. We hung out and drank margarita's then I took a half a day of personal time to go with him to the funeral home and stuff. After that all our friends met up and watched a movie and drank margaritas at his house until he was ready to sleep. By the time I got off of work yesterday I was so exhausted I could cry. I was in bed by 8 and wish I could have slept longer. He is like a little brother to me and he lost his Mother when he was 14, so I did what good friends do. Going back to school has added a lot of things to my day too. I bought my phone last weekend and still haven't had time to put ringers on it or figure out the music player.

Aerial comes home from her Dad's on Sunday. Her bff just got home from her Dad's too so I am sure it's going to be crazy.

33 more days to Vegas!!!

In New Jersey, beer, wine and liquor must be purchased at a liquor store, unless it has changed since I moved away. No alcohol could be purchased at a supermarket or convenience store. Liquor stores closed at 10pm, so if you ran out of alcohol, you could go to some bars and buy "package goods" which was usually only beer and it was way more expensive so you had to be really desperate.

When I went to college in NYC, I was surprised to see that you went to the grocery store (or bodega or deli or convenience store) for beer and the liquor store liquor and wine; liquor stores didn't generally even have a cooler, everything was at room temperature. Also, every place that sold beer had a stack of small paper bags by the register in case you were buying a single can or bottle and wanted to drink it on the way home.

Marcie, that is so sad about your friend. You are truly a wonderful friend.!!

Jrsy, a small bag so you can drink it on the way home. LOL

You are a good friend Marcie. I am sure he appreciates everything you are doing for him.

Back to the alcohol, I forgot to add that the ABC stores are not open on Sundays and you can not buy beer or wine until noon on Sundays.

Marci, you are a good friend for him

Selena, they just changed our law this month where liquor stores can now be open on Sunday.
