Hey Lulu!!! I've missed ya. Glad everything is going great for you.

I almost forgot, today the eye institute called that did my lasik surgery. They asked if I wanted to be a testimonial patient. They are sending me an interview to fill out and I have an appointment setup to get my picture taken. They said I will be hung up in the office. How cool is that.

Lulu, OMG. You have been missed. PLEASE, PLEASE, don't stay away so long. We love you! Tell us all about your wedding plans.

Marcie, love and I mean LOVE your room. Love it.

We are really loving our trip. Went to Aspen today. Was surprised how "old" the town itself is. I can't imagine why the stars love it other than the spectacular views. Visited the John Denver Sanctuary which is a rock garden memorial. The huge boulders had some of his songs inscribed on them. I have to admit that I got choked up. It was beautiful.

Thanks, Marcie! That is awesome! I am so glad it worked well for you. My aunt is considering it, they recommended she do it when she goes in for glaucoma surgery.

Sandy, you are TOO sweet!!

Since you asked, lol:
Here are a few ideas (subject to change!)

Revised colors- white, gray, silver, seashell pink, rose and pink coral (all soft yet summery shades of pink and coral)
Ceremony - Wedding Pavilion 10 am
Floral- Me- seashell pink/rose/pink coral mini callas and roses BM's- white mini callas, FG's- white fabric (same as their dresses whatever that is) pouches with petals
Ceremony Decor - aisle runner with petals, columns with small square vases of roses or roses and callas. I will save $ because I am having the same floral brought to the reception place!
Reception - California Grill!! Lunch
Linens- white with "pixie dust" overlay (sparkly) Maybe pale coral pink bows for chairs?
I plan on decorating my sweetheart table with the BM bouquets and mine in glass vases cylinders (to save $, might as well make them "useful")
I would like a silver or white napkin and am hoping to use white or pale silver shimmer paper for table numbers and menu cards.
Favors- place card holders/picture frames and possibly something else -- it sounds crazy, but I LOVE salt - its a family joke! and Rob loves hot peppers, hot sauce. So, I was thinking of getting little jars of the pink hawaiian salt and little mini bottles of hot pepper sauce and putting out silver dishes of them, labeling them "Salt and Pepper" and putting a pic of us on them- like we go together type of idea?
Guest book- photo mat? Not sure if I want another since I get that from my photographer free!
Entry table- 2 photo trees with pics of family members I've lost plus my old dance teacher and my dog - and a poem about those who are no longer alive.
Cake- fondant swags with fresh floral and white chocolate castle topper. My parents cake was 8 layers and square- I WISH I could recreate that!
Entertainment - Singer? DJ? I want to see how much it is to get a DVD player for kids Rob also wants Mickey and Minnie to help us cut the cake.
Dessert Party - Terrace du Fleurs - aka FRANCE

Lu - yay you posted!!!!! You have been missed. I cannot wait for your wedding to come so I can see pictures!!! Your colors sound beautiful!!!!! Have you found a dress yet?

Marcie - LOVE your room. I love how you decorated the walls, very sophisticated and calming. You bed.....OMG, I want it!!!!!

OMG, they look list POSTCARDS. I love them!! That first one is like a Christmas card!

Thank you! I want bright but soft, if that makes sense? lol.

No dresses yet, but this is my top contender right now:

(prob in diamond white, but I have to try it on)

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=S810

I am still open, I want to try on a bunch, but this is what I like:

1. simple embellishment, not over the top, not plain
2. not strapless
3. soft pick ups, full but not "poufy" since I have bigger hips

Thank you! I'm going to take the canopy off today. See how I like it without.

How are all you sickies?

Snowing here at Beaver Creek. (Avon) I am loving it. I think we will go for a swim in the outdoor pool and then run for the indoor hot tub. Went to Aspen today. It was so beautiful.
I ended up only having to take medicine for one day. Still not 100% but this cold didn't hit me too hard, which I am grateful for.

Make sure you send a picture for Heidi to post of you making the run from the pool to the hot tub.

Jrsy - Are you feeling better? How was Nebraska? The girls always manage to get me sick!!!! Love the kids, not the germs!!!
The weather was ideal for our weekend. Ended up walking about 5 miles on Saturday and 2.5 on Sunday and saw a lot of pheasant (plus several deer, a couple of owls, some rabbits and a heck of a lot of cattle).

I didn't rest today, but I did get a facial. That was nice. I got up an hour before I normally get up in the morning, because I was excited to work on my room. I haven't finished yet but I wanted to share. I bought some black netting for my bed, but don't know what to do with it yet. I'm probably going to update my lamp too. By the way, about to take cough medicine, still coughing uggh.
I recommend you make it into stockings, put them on and show them off here. HOT!

Selena, I cannot believe how grown up your kids are now! I hope you had a great vacation. Marcie, you are doing GREAT and your place looks AMAZING!!! I love the plaque about dreams, it reminds me of the Walt quote! Cristi, I can't believe you're the mom of a TEEN! And Jrsy, you're still drinking beer! Go you! lol. Sandy, you are so strong and such a wonderful mom and grandmother! I think of you all especially Tyler often and I keep you in my prayers. I cannot wait until this is all past and he healthy and happy!
How does that saying go? They can have my beer when they pry it from my cold, dead hands. Welcome back, Jrsy Grrl! Did you know that we had a stalker a while back?

I am not even going to play catch up.

I'm back. I will let you decide if that is a good thing or not. lol

Had an amazing time. I will try to write a bit of a review but as you know me I tend to forget doing all of it and 10 days is a lot to do.

Jeff and I woke up at 4:30 am and got ready and was on the road by 6, which was our target time. I was nicely surprised we made the timeframe. Due to leaving before the kids woke up we stopped for coffee about 20 minutes into our hour drive to Charlotte. Bought coffee and breakfast and was back on our way to Charlottle.

We arrive at the remote parking where we always like to park and found a parking place before it was totally light outside. We took the shuttle to our terminal, dropped off our luggage at the outside area and headed to security. Security was a little busy for that time of morning. We actually went thru the wrong gate security which wound up being a good thing. Found our gate with no issue and we had 2 hours to kill. Oopsie. You just never know about driving time and security when you are traveling. Jeff listened to his Ipod and I read.

We were on our way by 10:30 and arrive early to Atlanta. We found our gate which happened to be in the same terminal which is unusual for Atlanta. We did not have to sit an hour and it was time to go.

We arrived in LAX a few minutes before 2. Found our luggage and our prearranged shuttle. I reserved Supershuttle with the discount I found by doing a search online. $3 pp savings. We paid $31 or $33 by credit card when I had reserved the shuttle and this included tip. I found it discouraging to have it very plainly written on our reservation confrimation that the ip was included to see that NO TIP is included in the price posted many times in the van. It really wasn't a big deal since we had planned on tipping more but it was a bit discouraging that the company adds the tip to then post that tip is not included in the fare. I forget how it was stated but it was clear the driver would expect a tip. Once again we did not mind because we planned on tipping and the driver was nice enough. He spoke to us and told us a few things.

Upon hopping into the shuttle there was 2 people there already. It was a van share reservation. I tried to speak to the passengers but they were very rude and decided to make fun of my southern accent right in front of me without once saying anything to me. I found them to be the most rude people we were to meet though on our trip.

We drove around LAX until we filled up and then had to drive 2 more times around. I thought that was a waste of money since the van was full but it is their policy.

Traffic was not too bad from LAX to San Pedro. We stayed at the Doubletree in San Pedro. While it was a very nice hotel, even niceer since it was free, I understand why so many people advised us not to stay there. Do not get me wrong the area is very beautiful but there is NOTHING to do. We checked into our room and then came down for a late lunch an a drink. My sweet husband took a few pictures on his phone and texted them to people. Our first drink. lol Which was promptly posted on our group thread that Selena was drinking already. lol Word traveled fast.
We then walked around the marina for an hour or so and headed to the room. What we did not know was that their was a Happy Hour. This would have atleast given us a few hours of something to do. Instead we hung out in our room. Our room was very nice. We had a cute balcony that overlooked the marinia. There are very few of those balconies and that was part of our upgrade. Very sweet for free.

Jeff and I fell asleep by 8:45. We were pooped. I do not know how many times my phone went off until I finally cut the thing off but it rang and buzzed many times as we attempted to sleep.

Our bed was awesome and we slept very well.
