Cranberry or Pineapple?? Part 2

Today was a very tiring day of testing. We had a group of 16 students who had mods. All had extended time. Eleven out of the sixteen had read aloud. It was only two of us testing the students. I was so tired and actually glad it was my day to leave early to pick up MacKenzie from tutoring.

We were testing today, too! One student needed to go to the bathroom and he sat in there for 1/2 hour. We were all women so we had to call security to go in there! It's crazy. The only good part it we got an hour for lunch instead of the usual 40 minutes. :)

I know the one you are talking about; right by my doctor's office. That really sucks! I am still dealing with my portable hard drive crash, so I have some idea what you are going through each time I think of something that I no longer have. Try not to let it get you too down; at least you had a really good time and still have the memories.

Did you hear about the plane crash at Centennial Airport last night? We missed it by about five minutes; we saw rescue vehicles all over the place all heading in the same direction, so we knew it must be something bad. Well the pilot, who was like 70, was able to walk away from it and even refused medical treatment! Maybe the giant rainbow we saw at the same time was a sign...

There was a small plane crash in NJ 2 days ago, too. What is up with this?

Selena - way to think positive!!!! 3 months is such a short time.

Well I have good and bad news. I will start with the good news first; Chris and I will probably be going to DisneyLand for a quick weekend trip in November. I haven't been there in over 15 years and he has never been. He won a 2 night stay at a Best Western Hotel (or something like that) threw work, I have a $230 credit on American Airlines, and my friend's sister works at guest services for DL so she can get us in for free!!! All it would cost us is food and 1 rt plane ticket for Chris!! I am excited.

My bad bews is my pictures at Walgreens. I called every day and stopped in the store every day to make sure that they would not delete my images that were on their computer, (that for whatever reason they could not get burned on a CD). I did this because unfortunately my trusting self trusted that Walgreens actually put all the pictures on the CD the first time I went there, well guess what they didn't. Called yesterday to find out they were fixing the computer and that my CD would be burned as soon as they were done and they would call me (great, yay...finally get my pictures after almost a week.) No call, went to dinner.....no call, we went to the store to see what was up only to find out they deleted all of the images. The girl that was working there picked up a piece of paper that was on the computer and written on it was, "DO NOT DELETE VAN HORN'S IMAGES, has been deleted off memory card." The manager's response was, "so what do I owe you money or something?" No you idiot I paid for 8 CD's and have 0....I don't want my money back, I want the pictures. I hate hate hate Walgreens now. So now I am hoping that the other DISers that we cruised with will have some of the pictures. Some of them I know they won't have, but maybe they will have 1 or 2. I am so sad. I went looking for a computer last night and found an HP that I want. I am hoping it will go on sale, if it does not go on sale by Christmas than I am buying it. That is Chris and my Christmas present to each other!!!

For Cristi and Jrsy - it was the Walgreen off of Coal Mine and Pierce.

This is crazy! I don't know why some people have no interest in their jobs or any sympathy for other people. I mean, even when I worked minimum wage jobs, I still cared about what I was doing. Ugh.

I'm sorry for your pics.

FWIW, I would contact higher ups - obviously management sucks there. You can write Walgreens CEO David Bernauer at Walgreens' Corporate Office at: Walgreens, 200 Wilmot Road, Deerfield, IL 60015.

consumerrelations.bb@walgreens.com

(Customer Service email - might not help too much but it's something)

Good luck!

AND

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDY!!! :drinking1 :love2: :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :Pinkbounc

Oh it seems like there are plane crashes around here fairly regularly, but this was in a very populated area and could have been hugely tragic. That and the fact that we missed seeing it by about 2 minutes. There was a location map in the Rocky Mountain News yesterday and we were literally sitting at a traffic light right next to the asterisk on the map.

As old as the pilot was, I would guess that experience played a huge part in him not being hurt and his crashing in a mostly empty parking lot rather than on Arapahoe Road during rush hour.

The pilot was 70 years old. I heard that he walked away from it in a daze but still refused treatment. Wonder how he is doing today! You can't tell me that he is perfectly fine.

Wow Lulu. That was so nice of you to do all of that research for Heidi.

LuLu - thank you so much for researching that contact information for me. I will definitely contact both sources.

Selena - testing sounds rough. Is it always that exhausting? My Hobbit name is: Belba Gamgee-Took of Bywater

Yesterday I took off work to be with my best friend. It was her court date for her divorce and there was no way I was going to let her go alone. Her ex lives in FL and her mom had to watch her son, so I went with her. We then went shopping all day. We were out from 7:30am-4:30 pm. I took her to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and tried a mojito...whoa, that drink is definitely minty fresh and a sipper drink!!!!

Mom - How dis your picture CD turn out? I can't wait to get my pirates picture!!! I also can't wait to post more pictures!!

My name is Tigerlily Boffin of Whitfurrows.

Heidi, I love the cheesecake factory!!! Their drinks are yummy too.

What did you think of Grey's Anatomy?

Oh the fun science fair!! That will be coming soon for us too. What is the project on? Aerial has done one on batteries and one on plants.

Alex wanted to do something with Silly Putty, one of his favorite things lately. So we found several different recipes to make Silly Putty at home and are going to test each of them against store-bought Silly Putty for stretchiness, bounciness and ability to lift images from the newspaper.

Of course the plan WAS to do this on Sunday, then we found out that the Giants game is on TV (my team) followed by the Dallas game (Tammy's team) followed by the Broncos game (Alex's team). I guess I'll have him work on the display during my game, then work on the experiment with him during Tammy's game.

Jrsy, how funny to read what a divided family you have. THREE teams in one household? Man, it must be crazy there during football season.

I haven't taken the name test yet. Afraid that it would take an hour just to get to the website. lol

Jrsy - I am a Broncos fan and Chris is a Steelers fan, but I couldn't imagine having 3 games to watch in one day!!!! It's bad enough watching Nascar for 4 hours!!!

That sounds like a good project for the science fair.

You will only have two games to watch on Sunday though. The Broncos are playing Monday night.
