I'm room mom this year and need to come up with something the kids (9-10yo) could make during the party. It needs to be generic (i.e., not Christmas).

Any ideas?

TIA!

Pretty simple thing...kinda for women though....bath salts. It's really easy.

3 cups Epson Salts
1 Tablespoon Glycerin

for coloring you can use food coloring...very inexpensive or you can purchase dye for soap making and such at places like Hobby Lobby.

for scent you can use any perfume or you can buy various scents at Hobby Lobby, which is my preference.

In a large bowl, mix Epson Salts and Glycerin.
Add scent...amount is your preference...and mix.
Add coloring...amount is your preference and mix.

You can divide it into smaller portions...I like to divide it into 1 cup portions and put it in those nice little gift bags you can purchase at the dollar store.

My great niece and I made 100 cups of the bath salts this weekend to donate at a local Christmas Gift House for kids. She's 9 and loves making the stuff.

how about something with snowmen or gingerbread men -
google snowman soup - very cute idea
let me brainstorm

I have ordered the prepackaged kits from Oriental Trading really cheap, they usually have 10 or so to a pack, there are things like pre cut sheet foam pieces that you put together to make (my favorite) a fake "smore" ornament that looks like a snowman with a scarf, there are also faces that go on pencils as toppers too. Thanks everyone! I think we are going with the snowflakes and a snowman picture frame that they can color. We will take a pic of each child and print them to put in the frame. I hope they have a good time!

I apprecaite everyone's ideas! I'm going to save for next year!
