How dare Cracker Barrel do such a tree-hugger hippie commie thing?!!!! This is ‘Murica!!!

The though process of many Cracker Barrel devotees.
I immediately picture vehicles in the Cracker Barrel parking lot, decorated with Punisher logos, and "Molon Labe". I can see a new movement: "Make America Meat Again!"

EDIT TO ADD:
Oops, we just activated the cheesy 'Murica clothing ad:

I don’t understand this fake meat or cheese substitute stuff. There are plenty of tasty natural vegetarian and vegan foods. Why eat fake stuff that is highly processed to mimic things you’re opposed to? Seems contrary to the whole V philosophy. :confused3

Their (Impossible, Beyond, and similar) target consumer is meat eaters, not vegetarians/vegans. They want to get people to eat less meat.

So long as the regular sausage is available as well, I don’t understand the outrage. Now, if they were replacing all their meat products with Impossible products, then I could understand, as I don’t like Impossible products. When I want meat, I want meat (although a lot more meals are meatless these days, due to the cost). Options and choices are always good to have. . .

Let's say you love fast food, hot dogs wrapped in pancakes, sausages galore. Imagine you wanted to eat healthier, possibly on insistence of your doctor, you're likely going for fake sausage/burgers/hot dogs vs salads or most dishes that resemble vegetables.

They dropped fried catfish from the menu. We have decided that is a step too far.

That is pretty much my DD's thoughts. She will not eat any kind of 'meat' substitute because the idea of meat bothers her so much she doesn't even want anything that tries to be remotely like it. I know others that feel that way too. I grew up eating meat, and occasionally will get a craving for something that I no longer will eat for ethical reasons, so the fake stuff can be a good option for me. But yeah, as far as vegetarian foods go, fake meat is not usually my first choice, and is something I usually will have only about once a week when DH cooks burgers for himself and DS.

Another publicity stunt. I've been in Cracker Barrel, I like their pancakes & am very doubtful the people who go really care. No-one goes there with a healthy breakfast in mind or cares if that's where one person wants to aim after enjoying the heaping pile of cheesy hash browns. Americans are much more apathetic than this would display.
