Anyone have a really good recipe for crab cakes? I like them best with whole chunks of crab meat and not too many breadcrumbs.

I have a recipe for the world's Best Crab Cakes

1. Pack your sunscreen, swimsuit & snorkel/scuba gear

2. Get on a jet plane to the Cayman Islands

3. Go directly to the Westin on 7 mile Beach

4. At Lunchtime: ask to sit outside on the beautiful patio overlooking the sand & gorgeous turquoise ocean

5. Order the crab cakes ummmmmmmmmm

6. Repeat for several days . . . . . . . . .

(sorry I don't have the 'at home version' recipe)

Thanks so much!! This is a great suggestion. Now all I have to do is convince my fiance! :smooth:

This site looks wonderful. I can see why you would have such fond memories. Thanks again for sharing!

I have several recipes, but the one I got in a recipe exchange a couple years ago has the lowest ratio of bread to crab. Let me know if you'd like any of the others. One of the is from Old Key West at Disney; another is a copycat for the Cheesecake Factory.

Old Bay Crab Cakes
2 slices dried bread, crust removed
milk
1 Tbl Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbl parsley flakes
1 Tbl baking powder
1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
¼ tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1 lb crabmeat

In a bowl, break bread into small pieces & moisten with milk. Add all ingredients except crabmeat & mix lightly. Add crabmeat & combine gently, not breaking up larger pieces of crab. Shape into patties & broil or fry until golden brown on both sides.

I use the Crab Cake Classic mix by Old Bay which you can buy at your seafood counter. I think you mix 1/2 cup of mayo with the mix and gently fold in the jumbo lump crab meat and I usually pay fry them in a mix of butter and olive oil. You wanna talk about good!!

Thank you very much for the recipes! I can't wait to try them out. Crab cakes are one of my favorite seafood dishes (next to lobster of course). :sunny:
