CR - Where is this room?

Back in 1997 I had booked a standard view room at the CR. The room we got overlooked the parking lot but it had a view of the castle. I remember watching the fireworks from our room.

Is this truly a standard room? What should I request to get the same view?

It sounds like a Standard view from the garden wing.

We stayed in the north garden wing last month. We faced the parking lot and the monorial. We were able to see a bit of the castle. The next floor up would have had a better view. We were never in the room for the fireworks, though.

Well, part of it does, just as part of the north wing faces Bay Lake and a playground. I was in the south wing during hurricane Frances. I had the first room on the first floor as you entered the building and made a right down the hallway (very convenient for unloading half my house by entering through the patio door). I had a view of the parking lot (I wanted to be able to keep an eye on my car during the storm so, it was perfect), but I don't believe I could see the MK due to the tower being in the way. More than likely, it was probably the north wing the poster was in, but both of them face a parking lot and water/pool. Parking lot view is a standard view.
