Which would you choose and why?

Please give honest answers. . .also, it might help you to decide that I am going with my 15 year old son who is a Disney nut just like me. . .also, it is $550 more for the view. . .

We loved the CR theme park view much better than the Poly garden view. We were on the 11th floor of the CR. The kids were younger when we stayed there. The one night they were tired & watched fireworks from their bed, they loved it! You get a great view of the Poly and GF Resorts as well, would definitely stay there again.:tink:

We loved the CR MK view and my DS and DD thought the room was awesome. :)

Can I just say, I wish I had this decision to make!? I think either way, you win! We have stayed at the Poly, garden view, and it has become my favorite resort by far. I just love the whole tropical theme, love the restaurants there, the cool drinks they serve at the bar, the tiki torches at night... I haven't stayed at the CR, but the MK view could be fun. How much time would you really be hanging in your room enjoying the view tho? For me, I would take the atmosphere of the Poly over the CR. You can grab a Pina Colada and hang out on the Poly's 'beach' to see MK and the fireworks and stuff. I just think overall the Poly just rocks!:cool1: Let us know what you decide!!!:thumbsup2

If you have the money, then I'd go for the CR park view...and I'm a big Poly fan from as far back as 1972. CR is a classic too and I will never forget seeing the monorail go through it for the first time when I was a child. What's not to love?

And Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Gotta do it.

We have done both and my entire family is together on this one...CR MK view!:thumbsup2

I agree that if you have extra money for the Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporary, then you should go for it. I mean how can you not beat waking up to this everyday.

For view, I guess CR. For resort, I'd choose Poly. I'd rather have an entire beautiful resort than just a beautiful view.

Exactly.

Last year I wrestled with whether to take my daughter, two nephews and godsister (8, 13 and 14 who had never stayed on Disney property) to WDW to stay in a MK view at the Contemporary or a Garden View at the Poly. I had actually booked the MK view room at the CR but never felt 'right' about it. Kept thinking how much the kids would love swimming in the pool at night and seeing the castle and being immersed in a beautiful resort as opposed to a simple theme park view. I wound up switching to a garden view and saving about $800.

Turns out I was right. :thumbsup2

The kids absolutely LOVED having a garden view room facing the volcano pool. They spent more time in the pool than anything else. We did visit the Contemporary and I asked them which resort they liked better. Without hestiation they chose the Poly.

if you are looking at a garden view at the Polyn - then why the MK view - instead of a garden view at CR?

I stayed at The Poly in November and wasn't impressed. I am going back this August and I booked the CR in a MK view. The view is the best in WDW hands down!! I had a MK view at The Poly and I had to look through trees and bushes to see the castle at The Poly..The CR is totally unobstructed..Have fun!!;)

Okay- I have Never STAYED at either one of these resorts BUT have visited both and Personally I felt the Poly seemed a little generic to me...It was like a hawiian theamed hotel gone bad...When we visited the CR I was in awe at the monorail running thru, the excitment of Chef mickeys etc...Not to mention that altough I have not stayed in the rooms at the resorts, I HAVE spent hours looking at rooms online and the CR blows the rest of the resort rooms away IMO..there very luxury like and plush, very warm and cozy looking, whereas I think The Poly looked cheap and just thrown together.....these are just my opinions tho. I opted for CR Mk view for this Sept.
Good luck with whatever you decide! Have a great trip!:goodvibes

CR gets my vote. It was just renovated, your son will love the cool new decor and jazzy flatscreens. Other than the amazing theme park view, you also have a great asset in the CR because you don't have to wait for a bus or monorail at MK closing, you can just walk home!

Not disagreeing (see my comment above) but I know many people who prefer the trees/bushes view of MK at the Poly for the precise thing you see in CR's shot above: parking lot with cars, roads with cars and buses, and workaday backstage stuff. It kind of takes away from the "far away" immersive feeling, but its true that the CR MK view does have the clearest/nearest look at the park. One has to keep one's eyes up.

Again, not disagreeing, I always felt the castle was too far away at the Poly to justify paying extra for that view.
