All you Contemporary Resort fans have us re-thinking our December reservations. We've visited CR many times & always thought it might be fun to stay there. Has anybody gone in the winter, & how was the swimming? Was the pool heated so you could swim for a while on the cooler days? Thanks.

We stayed at the cr tower the last 2 december's! The pool is beauitful BUT it is directly off the lake, meaning if there is ANY wind it will cool things off. Now our weather was very unpredicitable and changing on a daily basis, pretty much from hats, mittens and sweaters, sweatshirts, to shorts and tanks, but being a northern as yourself, we thought wow, is this warm! So needless to say the pool was not real crowded! So what I'm saying is that if its at all warm, it should be fine for someone from wisconsin, but if your from the southern states (etc.), you might not think so! Here's to good weather! (cr is a GREAT location for MVMCP!..).:D

We love the cr pools too! They were warm enough during the day in december, and at evening or nite, we just used the large hot tubs. MKY;)

We stayed at the Contemporary in early January, and swam twice in the pools at night - and it was actually quite nice! The pools are heated - the main pool was definately warmer than the smaller, round pool. We would also watch the Electrical Water Pagent from the pool area, a nice touch. I am also a "northerner", so I was more than happy to swim in the cool weather! I was pleasantly surprised to see how "swimable" the pools are in the winter. :)

We swam in the two CR pools during the Christmas holiday season. We found the bull’s-eye pool to be much warmer, especially at night, than the main pool. I happen to like cold water (hate "bathtub" water), so both of those pools were very nice. My young daughter likes warmer water, so she preferred the bull’s-eye pool. The CR is a great resort.

We were there the 1st week of January, and it was definitely not swimming weather... 40's during the day, and low 30's at night....kind of rainy, too....but there were people swimming, believe it or not. The pools are all heated, I believe to 82 degrees, and of course the hot tubs are much warmer than that. If you don't mind swimming in the cooler temps, the pools are open and the lifeguards are there during the day (I felt so sorry for them!) Have a blast!!!
