Doing our annual spring break trip. Saw this room offer and wanted to know everyone's opinions on this category. We have never stayed at the CR and would love to. So some questions- walking distance to main building, walking distance to MK ect. I just don't want to spend the amount and be disappointed. I had really wanted to stay at WL, but am hesitant due to the construction. So if anyone has had good experience with the garden view- (which floor, ect ) please let me know. Thank you!!!

If the price is within your limits I would book it. There are rooms with a view of Bay Lake at the end of the garden wing, I would request that. 1st floors have a patio, no balconies on 2nd and 3rd floors.

Rooms itself are the same as in the tower. You may also get a view in the direction of the pool or the grass.

I have not stayed at CR myself, but visited it. There are worse distances than the walk from the tower to the farthest room in the garden wing. Nothing I would worry about.

I think it is a great way to try CR for the first time. Some people love it, others hate it. Give it a chance :-)

We've stayed in both the tower and the garden rooms in CR. Though I prefer the tower, for the right price, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the garden wing again. I would definitely request a first floor room, as I would prefer a patio. As Liberator pointed out, the upper floors do not have balconies. The CR garden wing really has an old-school WDW feeling to it (which I love!) which, of course, makes sense since it originally opened when MK opened in 1971. The rooms are the same as in the tower and are super comfortable. You will be right by the pool and the beach area and there is a covered walkway to the tower. It's a very short walk to the tower (literally maybe a minute, tops) and it's a 5-10 minute walk to MK. I did feel a little disconnected from the action at CR, but, again, if you are getting a substantial cost savings, I would definitely do it. While I love the atmosphere at WL, the rooms are much smaller there and you do not get the transportation convenience of CR. Due to transportation convenience and food options alone, I would always pick CR over WL.

I second everything that Marthasor said!

The garden wing is a very different experience from staying in the tower, but is lovely in its own right. The ground floor rooms with patio are an amazing value for walking distance to the MK. It takes us about 15 minutes to walk to the MK from the further rooms in the GW. (I am really slow, with mobility issues.) The walk to the tower is maybe 1 - 5 minutes depending upon where you are in the garden wing and if you have to get the elevator.

I also prefer the GW at the CR to the WL. The rooms are much larger, brighter and more comfortable at the CR, IMO. Plus the transportation from the CR is the best in WDW (tied with the POLY, IMO).

We stayed in the GW, hospitality suite #5203. It was heaven. A minute or two walk to the main building and pools. Approximately 10 minutes to walk to MK. The only thing I would have liked was a patio. We basically used the pool area as our patio. We were only there for 5 days but my husband and I spent every afternoon and some late nights at the pool so we enjoyed the Resort. It was our first time staying on site as a family (kids have stayed on site POR for senior trips and oldest DD and I stayed on site at All Star Sports for a volleyball tournament back in 2006 and we stayed twice off site as a family). We decided if we ever go back, and I'm hoping we will, we will definitely stay at the CR again. We really loved it. The CL perks were also a hit with us.

We actually prefer the garden building. (Over tower bay view for sure)
We have kids and the grass areas for them to play in while we sit on the "porch" is great. The lower noise is wonderful. The walk to the main building was a few minutes and it was about ten to mk.
I also like that if you use the pool you don't have to go through higher traffic areas.
We don't use the room much either so having the mk view is a nice plus but not something that's worth a lot dollar wise to us
