CR DVC resort a no-go

Ahh- thanks for clarifying. It would appear there is a HUGE difference bewteen a "fact" and an internet rumor. Can we also assume then that your other statement - - is actually just your personal opinion and not really a "fact" that can be substantiated with any real data ? :confused3

:teeth: Boy, you are good, you got me there also. :thumbsup2 It is only my opinion.

I do feel that most would agree CR is tired and run down with a terrible pool by WDW standards.

Lisa, I told DH last night about this and he said - Oh, they just want us to buy AKL thinking CRV isn't coming, then when it is close to being sold out they'll announce CRV! And he doesn't even read these boards! :rotfl:

My DH has even greater conspiracy theories. When the plan for CRV surfaced he claim some one must have made it and planted it on that web site. Very far fetched but I guess on some of the Mac forums people will do such things.

Friend what???

Show me ONE of my posts that even mentions a friends statements or views?

Don't try to be a smart guy if you can't back it up.

I stand by my comments, CR is a dive and in serious need of renovation. That is MY view and I'm not afraid to say it.

Do you disagree or would you rather just make smart comments?

As of a couple of days ago, the STOL site had some plumbing going in, and also had a hole dug directly under the monorail track. They appear to be digging up parts of the runway itself. Something fairly permanent is going in. Of course, there are several possibilities. Maybe a central check-in site for convention people, some sort of support facility for WDW in general, maybe a central bus dispatch center? It could also be site work for a new resort, but if it is a resort, I would bet it is a "combined" WDW/DVC resort. It would be an easy location to build a new monorail station. If it is a resort, I doubt there will be any announcement until work progresses a little further, and it will take a few years to be completed, giving AKV a chance to sell.

Spot on! (as my English friends would say) :surfweb:

Ok, let me re-phrase a little. Plans were uncovered then after they were posted here on the Dis they were removed from the architecture site.

I would hardly call a drawing of a building plans.

My wife tells me her opinion are the facts :rotfl2: :teeth:

I just read on another website that at the Contemporary itself, they're starting to take apart the Tennis Courts.

Anyone else know anything about that?

someone one mentioned that a DVC would be in the tennis court and rack club at the Cont - not the north wing.

the Cont until this year was in bad shape and got just a few returned guests.

the rehab has been a BIG success. just try to find the Cont on the WDW reservation system. I couldn't. AKL yes - not a problem. but the Cont is NOT showing up. First time in years!!!!

I asked my guide about the tennis court & rack club - saying people were told to start using the one at GF. She say she knows nothing. they still aren't even allowed in the models rooms being fixed at the SSR for the AKL. Sounds like someone is not happy so far with the results.

she heard that the 1-bedroom would allow 5 not 6. but the studio is still surpose to be 4 (not 5).

Your first line backs up my "dive" comments. Thank you for that.

Second statements: a possible explanation is that many rooms are "out of inventory" for the rehab.

Lets not make it seem like suddenly the CR is a hot ticket. It is not.

Probably not as smart as some on this thread!
Don't know where you are getting your occupancy numbers, but the hotel seems to be fairly busy when we go to eat at the Ca Grill.
Don't think CR is a dive, but the hotel does need renovation, which Disney is already working on the rooms. So it seems that they are making improvements.

no the rehab is finished on the south wing and tower.

and yes CR is a hot ticket these days.

the new rehab has definitely increase the request for this hotel.

lots of people actually love the new rehab!
